2026 Municipal Election Mobilization Guide | CanadaHOP 10/03/2026

As Ontario’s municipal and school board elections approach on October 26, let’s pray together.

We’re grateful to Pastor Maymie Lau with our friends at Canada House of Prayer (CanHOP) and MissionGTA for creating , a prayer and mobilization guide that is postured to be prayerful and not partisan.

Whether you pray at home, with a small group or alongside your congregation, there’s a place for you to participate. Churches and prayer groups are especially invited to set aside time during the October 23-25 weekend of prayer.

Let’s pray for wisdom and integrity in leadership, the well-being of our neighbourhoods, and a Church that loves and serves our neighbours across our differences.

Whoever is elected, our commitment to pray for them continues.

2026 TPB Prayers 03/10/2026

One week ago today we gathered to pray for Toronto together. Thank you to the leaders who helped lead the prayer segments and guide us in prayer for our city.

The full prayers and prayer points for the seven areas we prayed for are available here so others can pray along with us and use them in their own communities:

This past week, several synagogues in the Greater Toronto Area were struck by gunfire.

These acts of antisemitic violence are deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable. As Mayor Olivia Chow has said, “Toronto’s Jewish community has the right to practice their faith without fear, intimidation or violence.”

At The 2026 Toronto Prayer Breakfast, held on the same day as Purim, Aden Friedman, a Jewish follower of Jesus, read from the Book of Esther and led a prayer for our city.

In that prayer he named antisemitism clearly and rejected hatred and prejudice in all its forms. He asked God for protection for the vulnerable, wisdom for leaders, and peace among peoples and nations.

“For such a time as this.” – Esther 4:14

We invite you to join us in praying for the Jewish community in our city, for the safety of all places of worship, and for the peace and welfare of Toronto.
