The Do’s & Don’ts of Hiring a Photographer 📸
You didn’t hire a photographer just to hold a camera—you hired them because you loved their work. 🤍
So here’s the biggest tip: trust the person you hired.
❌ Don’t ignore advice about lighting, location, weather or timing.
That “perfect” location may not have perfect light!
❌ Don’t expect your Pinterest photo to look exactly the same.
Use it for inspiration, not a copy-paste. Every person, location, season and light is different.
❌ Don’t heavily filter, re-edit or change your photographer’s finished images.
Their editing is part of their art and brand.
❌ Don’t screenshot your gallery or crop out watermarks.
Download the original files and give credit where it belongs. 🤍
❌ Don’t arrive late and expect the same shooting time—especially for sunset sessions!
✅ Do choose based on style, not just price.
✅ Do communicate what you want, what you’re comfortable with and what matters to you.
✅ Do trust their guidance on posing, wardrobe, location and lighting.
✅ Do relax, have fun and let them create.
At the end of the day, you chose them because you saw their portfolio and thought:
“I want my photos to look like THAT.” ✨
