Canadian Landscape Fine Art Painter I'm an engineer by education. Back in 2004 after 30 years I was looking for a change and went out on my own consulting.

A seminar series lit the idea and I picked up a project out of town. Living in a hotel for about a year, 5 nights a week I started painting smaller works at night. After talking it over with the family I was off in a new direction. My first show was in June of 2005. I do about 15 shows and fairs each year and am presently in 5 galleries. I like a lot of texture, big colours and contrast and my technique lends itself to conveying motion and energy. My favourite colours are big blue skies and vibrant green. This past year+ I have gravitated towards the valleys in Toronto as we have great access to those hillsides and the dog and myself are on them 5-6 times each and every week. Our street runs into Taylor Creek Ravine in the east end of Toronto.

If you've ever hiked the Algonquin Provincial Park's Centennial Ridge Trail, you know the feeling of emerging from the dense Canadian forest onto those massive granite cliffs. Looking out over the water, the world suddenly feels vast and beautifully still.

This piece captures the northern crisp air, the rolling hills and the glass-like reflection on the lake below. Some places stick with you long after you pack up your hiking boots.
