5 things you need to start doing TODAY if you want to stop shrinking yourself at work 👇

So many of us learn to stay quiet, soften our opinions, over-apologize, or make ourselves smaller to keep the peace.

But you don’t have to shrink yourself to belong.

You deserve to take up space, use your voice, and show up with confidence in who you are and what you bring to the table.

You don’t have to be the smartest person in the room to get ahead.

What matters more? Having a good attitude.

You can be incredibly talented, experienced, and knowledgeable, but if you’re difficult to work with, unwilling to learn, or constantly bringing negativity into the room, people notice.

A good attitude looks like being coachable, showing up with a willingness to learn, treating people with respect, and choosing to be part of the solution rather than adding to the problem.

Skills can be taught. Experience can be gained. But the attitude you bring into a room every day? That can change everything.

Stop letting work get to you…

Easier said than done, right?

When you care deeply about your work, it’s easy to carry the stress, the conversations, the deadlines, and the pressure home with you. But your job is something you do, it is not who you are.

Learning to create emotional boundaries with work doesn’t mean you care less. It means you’re protecting your energy so you can show up as your best self, both at work and outside of it. 💕

Watch the video for a reminder on how to stop letting work consume you.

The #1 wellness skill you need to thrive in a stressful job isn’t stress management.

Because constantly learning how to “manage” your stress doesn’t address what’s creating it in the first place.

Sometimes, the most powerful skill is learning to recognize what’s yours to carry, what isn’t, and where you need stronger boundaries.

You don’t have to become better at tolerating an unhealthy environment. You can become better at protecting your energy, communicating your needs, and recognizing when something needs to change.

Watch the video to hear what I believe we should be focusing on instead.

Caring about your work is a strength. But when you care so much that everything becomes personal, that strength can start costing you.

You become the person who always says yes. You pick up the slack because you know it needs to get done. You check emails when you should be resting. You replay conversations long after the meeting ends. You feel responsible for problems that aren’t actually yours to solve. You struggle to switch off because there is always one more thing you could be doing.

And slowly, work starts taking more from you than just your working hours.

The answer isn’t to stop caring. It’s learning how to care without sacrificing your health in the process.

Do great work. Be someone who cares. Go the extra mile when it matters.

But have boundaries. Take your breaks. Let some things wait until tomorrow. Stop carrying problems that belong to other people.

And remember: you can be deeply committed to your work without giving your job unlimited access to you.

Your health matters too.

Save this for the next time you feel guilty for switching off.
