This photo captures a moment.
My “personal brand” is shaped in the moments that follow:
when I hold a boundary, make a hard call,
or use my voice with clarity.
Your brand is your lived leadership reputation.
The image should reflect it; it cannot substitute for it.
In my executive advisory circle, we work beneath the facade—on the patterns, language, and leadership choices that shape how you are known.
What do people learn to expect from you when the room gets hard?

Feeling good in my own skin. What does that mean?
For a long time, it meant the opposite of this photo.
As an executive, I hid behind power suits. Sharp shoulders. Clean lines. A uniform designed to help me feel powerful in rooms full of men.
At the time, it made perfect sense. I was trying to create safety, credibility, and space for myself. The suit became armor.
Over time, I started asking a deeper question: Is this a choice or a strategy I learned to protect myself?
I uncover this in my upcoming book, Little Kid In a Power Suit.
Today, feeling good in my own skin means I can lead with authority while looking and sounding like myself. A bright blazer, jeans, glasses, and very impractical polka-dot shoes. My credibility is intact. My voice is mine. My presence belongs to me.
This is part of the work we do in executive advisory. We go beneath the surface of executive presence: the language we use, the roles we perform, the patterns we carry into high-stakes rooms, and the psychology behind our facades.
How we show up matters. The stories we tell ourselves about what it takes to belong matter too.
What part of your executive identity began as protection and is ready to become a choice?

Nobody stages an intervention for a woman who works too much - instead they give her a promotion.
I know because I was her.
my new nonnegotiable’s: rest, recreation, relationships - not someday, not this weekend, now every day.
The book that started this conversation?

I didn’t want to write a corporate book.
I wanted to write the one nobody says out loud.
The truth about how what happened to you as a kid is quietly running your leadership right now - and what to actually do about it.
Little Kid in a Power Suit. My most vulnerable work yet.

I used to call it rest. Scrolling between meetings. Half-present on weekends. Always one thought away from the next thing on my list.
This hike with my son in Crete was different. No managing, no optimizing. Just climbing.
Real rest isn’t what you do when on vacation.
Its presence.
What does that look like for you?

That’s how work addiction operates in high-performing leaders.
It doesn’t announce itself. It looks like dedication. It gets rewarded.
You get the promotion, the reputation, the round of applause at the all-hands.
Nobody pulls you aside and says: you are using work to avoid yourself.
They say: we need more people like you.

The hardest part of writing a book is choosing what to leave in.

For years, I watched brilliant women shrink themselves in rooms they earned the right to lead.
Not because they weren’t capable. Because somewhere along the way they learned that taking up space was too risky.
I used to do it too.
The version of me in this photo doesn’t do that anymore.
She knows what she thinks. She says it out loud. She had Greg stopped performing the leader she thought others needed and started being the one she actually is.
That shift doesn’t happen in a workshop.
It happened “in the work”, the real uncomfortable worth every second work.
That’s what I’m talking about.
DM me the word “book” if you want to be on the waitlist for Little Kid In A Power Suit - coming February 2027.

My mother got married at 17.
She didn’t graduate high school. She didn’t have choices.
She didn’t have a voice.
Today, she’s the caregiver to my father, who has dementia.
The self-sacrifice didn’t stop when we grew up — it just took a new form.
This Mother’s Day, I’m honouring her.
And I’m thinking hard about what it means to have inherited a life full of choices she never had.
So I wrote something.
- About why I don’t talk about retirement.
- About refusing to spend my working years counting down to “freedom” when the work itself is the life I want to be inside of.
- About the mothers who adore their careers and have spent years quietly apologizing for it.
- About the women who chose differently.
- About every life that doesn’t fit neatly on a greeting card.
For my mother — who didn’t get to choose.
For my kids — who are watching what I do with the choosing.
For every woman who’s still figuring out the shape of her own life.
Happy Mother’s Day. To all of you.

Five years ago, I had a deal with myself:
if I couldn’t make my business work in a year I’d go back to the c-suite.
Well… That plan didn’t age well 😂
Today, Crucible Inc. not just a business. It’s my purpose.
It started from my own transformation. Back in 2020 and now it’s about helping others create theirs.
Being nominated for the RBC Canadian woman entrepreneur awards is cool, but honestly, the best part has always been the before and afters, watching people and teams take their change and turn it into something great.
Transformation is never easy, but it’s where the gold is.
it’s wild how sometimes the thing you build to help other others ends up transforming you too.
