A hypercar unlike anything currently in production. Shot in New York, delivered to a collector who needed no persuading. The car speaks. The film listens.

The McLaren MCL-HY carries the weight of something rare — a lineage that includes the 1995 Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 GTR. One of the most storied victories in endurance racing. A car that wasn't supposed to win, until it did.

Now McLaren enters the FIA World Endurance Championship's Hypercar class from 2027. The MCL-HY: Dallara chassis, twin-turbo V6 from Autotecnica Motori, built to compete at the very front of the most competitive era Le Mans has ever seen.

And alongside it — the MCL-HY GTR. A customer track car so exclusive it carries the GTR name for the first time since the Senna GTR. Not a tribute. A continuation.

The room just heard a fake V8 from an electric Mercedes.

The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EV runs three YASA axial-flux motors, one front, two rear, for over 1,341 horsepower. Sub-2.0 second 0-60. 200 mph top end.

The party trick: a synthesized V8 soundtrack piped through speakers built directly into the headlight housings. The cabin layers in throttle blips, paddle-shifter gear changes, and seat-mounted resonators that translate the synthetic note as physical vibration. George Russell drove the camouflaged prototype through the Lapland winter test, and the entire thing growls, revs, and shifts like an AMG with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 up front.

It doesn't.

Production runs at the Mercedes Marienfelde plant in Berlin starting late 2026, debuting as a 2027 model. The motors themselves, compact axial-flux units developed by Mercedes' UK subsidiary YASA, enter series production in the same year across 35 world-first manufacturing processes.

The takeaway for Dubai showrooms: the EV transition does not have to be silent or sterile. Engineering theatre survives the powertrain swap.

A Gordon Murray T.50 just rewrote its own auction record.

Chassis 009, finished in bespoke Reef Red with fewer than thirty delivery miles, sold for 8.035 million dollars at the Broad Arrow Auctions California Mille sale in Paso Robles on April 21. The previous T.50 benchmark, set at RM Sotheby's Abu Dhabi a year earlier, was 5.63 million.

The buyer paid roughly 2.7 times the original 3 million sticker, and the appetite is rational. Murray Automotive built only 100 road cars. Each runs a Cosworth developed 3.9 litre V12 to 12,100 rpm with 661 horsepower, a six speed manual, fan assisted aerodynamics borrowed from Murray's Brabham BT46B, and a sub 1,000 kilogram dry weight. Murray, the man behind the McLaren F1, calls it the spiritual successor.

For Dubai dealership teams chasing UHNW collectors, the lesson is straightforward. The cars that move secondary markets like this are the cars marketing budgets should orbit. Provenance, scarcity, and engineering theatre travel further than discount.

The T.50 just proved its second market floor. The first owners are the only ones who paid a discount.

There has only ever been one road car powered by an actual Formula 1 power unit.

The Mercedes-AMG ONE.

Same 1.6L V6 turbo hybrid architecture that powered Mercedes to eight consecutive Constructors' titles from 2014 through 2021. Built at Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth, the same factory floor where Hamilton's title-winning units were assembled. Detuned just enough to last more than a single race weekend in a customer car.

275 cars built. No successor coming. AMG has now confirmed the next halo will be fully electric, taking shape as the AMG GT XX concept due in 2026.

A 2024 example sold for €2,817,500 at RM Sotheby's Monaco on April 25, 2026. Above the upper pre-sale estimate. Single owner. 89 km on the clock from new.

The first AMG ONE ever delivered wore a paint job inspired by the W12 E Performance F1 livery from Hamilton's era. The whole program was framed as a tribute to that title-winning chapter.

That chapter is now closed. The market is pricing it as such.

The Hidden Genius Behind Ferrari's Greatest Era

One bold engineering decision in 1957 changed everything.

When Ferrari was developing the legendary Testa Rossa, they made a move that shocked competitors: relocate the spark plugs from inside the engine's V-bank to the outside.

Sounds minor. It wasn't.

This "outside-plug" design unlocked three critical upgrades:

→ More cylinder head studs → higher compression ratios
→ Larger intake ports → six twin-barrel Weber carbs
→ Result: 300 hp from 3.0 liters = 100 hp/liter when competitors managed 50-60

This principle became the blueprint for the 250 GTO (296 hp) and cemented Ferrari's domination through the 1960s.

The lesson: Sometimes innovation isn't about doing more. It's about repositioning one thing to unlock everything else.
