Whatever it takes

I’ve been listening to AVIRA’s radio show, The Sound Gallery, since Episode 1. This past week, I had the honour of stepping in for Episode 108 to host the show and even curate a 30 minute guest mix for part of the episode.

🔊This week on The Sound Gallery, AVIRA is on vacation and asked me to take over hosting this week’s episode, along with a 30-minute guest mix on the back half.
I’m honoured and humbled to be trusted with the mic on this one.
Tune in today at noon on SiriusXM’s A State of Armin, or stream the replay this Friday on SoundCloud.

LANA DEL REY
I don’t often talk about my life outside of music…so here it is.
I own and operate an electrical contracting company alongside my brother. This is how I pay my bills, but it’s also something I genuinely love. I get a huge sense of satisfaction from the work. I feel like I’m contributing to society while building something for myself and my family.
For most artists, the dream is to make a living from their art. But for most, that’s not always the reality.
I love making music. I love DJing. I love the connection with people that my artistic journey has brought me.
I enjoy the balance of work and art that I’ve created. I can disconnect from one and fully immerse myself in the other. I find that balance refreshing, and I think each one makes me better at the other.
Life is all about balance.
Maybe one day music becomes my full-time job. Maybe it doesn’t.
Either way, I’m grateful that I don’t have to choose between having a career I’m proud of and making music that I love. I get to do both, and I know how lucky that makes me. 🫶
