Hopefully my ideas don’t take 100 years to grow like these seeds! 😂
Sometimes an idea or a dream doesn’t happen as fast as I want it to, but that does not mean it is not going to happen.
While biking through Biidaasige Park today I found a sign that when they were building this man-made park, they dug down 8 meters and found dormant seeds that had been buried for well over 100 years. Instead of dismissing them, they took those century old seeds, nurtured them, and now they are blooming beautifully all over the park.
It got me thinking… if you feel like your goals are buried or taking too long to come to fruition, remember this story. Your potential hasn’t disappeared; it might just be waiting for the right conditions.
Be patient, keep nurturing your ideas, and persevere. What is inside you will bloom when the timing is right. (Please excuse the helmet head hair 😄)

What does custom-made lipstick have to do with creating the life you want?
Recently, my friend and I went to Lip Lab to create our own custom-made lipsticks. It was such a fun Toronto experience, but I found myself putting way too much thought into creating the “perfect” colour. I wanted to get it just right.

Then I had a little realization: Wait a minute… I can come back! I don’t have to get the perfect colour on my first visit, and this doesn’t have to be the only lipstick I ever create.

Here’s the thing... We don’t have to settle for what’s already on the shelf or have what everybody else has. We can create something that’s uniquely us—something that’s exactly what we want. Even the CN tower on the top of my lipstick cap, was truly a me thing to do.

And like this lipstick, it doesn’t have to be a one-time thing. We can keep coming back and create new colours, new goals, and new possibilities whenever we like, in the way we want.

Ever have one of those days where one negative thing sets off your whole day? I saw this potentially happening to a Staples Canada employee while waiting in line. After witnessing first hand a difficult customer interaction I made sure to let her know what a fantastic job she did dealing with a not so great situation. I watched her speak in a very professional and friendly manner while doing her best to help this customer. It’s my hope that my few words shared and offer to send a quick email, helped to change the potential direction of her day?
I did send the email, that literally took me less than five minutes, and I got a wonderful response back from Staples! I feel that sometimes a few kind words or simple gesture can make a difference.

Picking up a nail, random act of kindness? I think so.

When I’m walking down the street or across a parking lot, if I see a nail or screw, I pick it up. If I don’t find a garbage can along the way, I take it home to throw out, just to make sure it doesn’t end up back on the road again.

And every time I say to myself, “I just saved somebody from getting a flat tire.”

And often I think… what if someone picked up a nail or a screw yesterday, or this morning, and saved me from getting a flat tire?

I’ll never know who that person was, or if I would have actually gotten a flat tire if they hadn’t picked it up. And they’ll never know they helped me. Just like someone else may never know that I picked up that nail or screw and saved them from a flat tire.

But honestly, it makes me feel good just thinking that maybe I’m helping some unknown person.

And really… how long did it take me to bend down and pick it up?
