Cabot has announced its next destination — Cabot Wilds — in Nova Scotia, where the brand got its start with Cabot Cape Breton. The new site, through which the lovely River Philip serpentines, is on the mainland, in Collingwood Corner near the small town of Oxford, where co-developer and landowner John Bragg built an empire that began with blueberries and Oxford Frozen Foods. With completion targeted for the end of 2027, Cabot Wilds will ultimately be a 2,500-acre golf resort with dining experiences, a recreation pavilion, racquet sports facilities and residential real estate.
Tabbed with designing the course is Toronto-based architect Jeff Mingay, whose restoration/renovation work in Canada includes Victoria Golf Club, The Derrick Club, Kelowna G&CC, Cutten Fields, Rivermead and Beaconsfield. This will be Mingay’s first solo-design, and he has assembled a team that includes Devon Bjarnason, Clive Henshaw, Bryan Ohnysty, Paul Crough, Mike Rossi and more to help him bring the course to life.
Recently, our editor Jason Logan and Kody McWilliams of Fourth Frame Films travelled to Oxford for an upcoming story on the next Cabot course and the close-knit crew that is digging it out of the dirt. The story will be told in print and video later this fall.

Riverway Golf Course brings links-style golf to Metro Vancouver. As part of our Nikon Coolshot 50i GII giveaway, this Burnaby favourite earned a spotlight thanks to a nomination from Dennis Sato
Located in south Burnaby, approximately 15 kilometres east of Vancouver International Airport, Riverway is an 18-hole public course designed by Les Furber. The par-72 layout stretches from approximately 5,400 to just over 7,000 yards and hosted the 124th B.C. Amateur Championship in July.
The course has a variety of hazards, with creeks, ponds and deep bunkers creating challenges throughout the round. The par-4 second, ninth and 14th holes offer risk-reward opportunities for golfers willing to take more aggressive lines from the tee. At this year’s B.C. Amateur, Matthew Wilson won the title with a birdie on the par-5 18th on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. #

Miyu Yamash*ta completed a dominant wire-to-wire victory at the CPKC Women's Open, finishing at 23 under to win by nine shots.
Canadian teenagers Anna Huang and Aphrodite Deng also delivered standout performances at Royal Mayfair. Huang closed with a 5-under 65 to finish T4 at 12 under and win the Sandra Post Award, given to the low Canadian in the field. As for Deng, she finished one shot behind her fellow countrywoman, ending the event T7 at 11 under to claim low amateur honours for the second consecutive year. Both earned spots in next week’s FM Championship at TPC Boston.
