Here’s one cybersecurity mistake small businesses still make every day: reusing passwords.

If one account gets compromised, attackers may try that same password on your email, banking, website and social accounts.

That’s how one small breach becomes a much bigger problem.

Use a password manager.

Create a different strong password for every important account.

And stop storing passwords in spreadsheets or shared documents.

One password should never unlock your whole business.

ChatGPT might be the most popular AI tool for business

Use it to write social posts, draft emails, generate blog ideas, respond to customer questions or organize your weekly marketing.

But don't just type, "write me a post."

Give it context.

Tell it what your business does, who your customer is and what you're trying to achieve.

The better the instructions, the better the output.

3 things you can do today to get more attention for your business.

1. Comment on 10 local posts. Add useful comments where the attention is
2. Make one short video answering a question customers always ask you.
3. Ask one happy customer for a review today.

You don’t always need more followers.

You need more visibility, more trust and more reasons for people to notice you.

I once had a client tell me, “Google Ads does not work.”

But when we looked closer, the problem was not Google Ads.

They had spent around $1,000 on ads, but the website was outdated, confusing, and full of problems.
Old content.

Dates from seven years ago.

The wrong phone number.

Weak messaging.

No clear path for the customer.

You cannot blame the platform when the customer clicks the ad and lands on a page that creates confusion.

Your ad and your landing page need to match what the person searched for.

If someone clicks because they are looking for a specific service, the page should clearly explain that service, build trust, and make it easy to take action.

Ads bring the customer to the door.

Your landing page has to help close the sale.

Trying to market everywhere usually means you are making an impact nowhere.

Every platform is different.

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and X all need different content, different consistency, and a different understanding of the audience.

Posting once in a while across six or ten platforms does not build momentum.

It usually just spreads your effort too thin.

The better approach is simple:

Choose the platform where your ideal customers already spend their time.

Learn what type of content works there.

Post consistently for at least 30 days.

Pay attention to conversations, leads, and sales not just views or followers.

Once you have a system that works, then expand to the next channel.

You do not need to be everywhere.

You need to become difficult to ignore somewhere.

The internet has reinvented business more than once.

First, every business needed a website.

Then social media changed how businesses built audiences, relationships, and trust.

Then mobile put the internet in everyone’s pocket and made speed, convenience, and instant access part of normal customer expectations.

Now AI is creating the next major shift.

It is changing how people search, choose, communicate, compare options, and complete tasks.
Every major digital shift created businesses that adapted early — and businesses that waited too long.
You do not need to chase every trend.

But you do need to understand how customer behaviour is changing.

Start there.

Adjust one part of your business at a time.

Keep moving forward.

AI is fast becoming the next interface of the internet.

Your business technology should make life easier.

But sometimes it does the opposite.

If your payment system goes down, can you still take orders?

If your website breaks, do you know who fixes it?

If your customer information is spread across spreadsheets, emails, and random apps, how much time are you wasting?

Technology shouldn’t make your business more confusing.

It should make things easier to run, easier to track, and easier for your customers to deal with.

Small businesses don’t need more tools.

They need the right tools working together.

Killer domain is dead

People have paid a crazy amount of money for their domain names.

Its not needed any longer.

What matters is what people search for - not your name.

If you are "2step Pizza" - people don't know if its a .com .ca .biz - they know your name "2Step Pizza"

So build a brand, work on the content and get it known.
