☕ Companion Care Is More Than Just “Keeping Someone Company.”

☕ Companion care can be about the little things.

A conversation over coffee.
🎲 Playing a favourite game.
📖 Reading together.
📺 Watching a favourite show.
🚶 Going for a walk.
🎵 Listening to music.
❤️ Simply having someone there.

For someone who spends a lot of time alone, these moments can become an important part of their day.

Because care isn’t always about completing a task.

Sometimes, it’s simply about connection.

🍳 Sometimes It’s Not About Cooking

🍳 Sometimes the hardest part isn’t cooking.

It’s planning the meal.
Getting everything ready.
Standing in the kitchen.
Or simply finding the energy to prepare something.

Meal preparation support can help make mealtimes easier while allowing your loved one to remain involved in their normal routine.

Whether it’s preparing a simple breakfast, lunch or dinner, having someone there can make a difference.

And sometimes… it’s nice to have someone to share the meal with too. 💙

Living Nearby Doesn’t Mean You Can Do Everything.

❤️ You live nearby.

You call.
You visit.
You check in.

But you also have work, children, appointments, errands and your own life to manage.

That doesn’t mean you don’t care.

It means you’re human.

Sometimes having a little extra support can make it easier to be there for your loved one without carrying everything on your own.

💙 Lighthouse Support Services is here to help with companionship, personal care, daily routines and respite support.

💡 A little preparation can make everyday routines easier.

Keeping frequently used items within easy reach can help an older adult feel more comfortable and maintain independence at home.

Save this tip for later and share it with a family caregiver who may find it helpful. ❤️
