Got up bright and early to be at Mayor Dorothy McCabe's State of the City this morning at University of Waterloo —such an uplifting start to the day!

It was inspiring to reflect on the progress we’ve made in City of Waterloo this past year and the strong vision for our community. It was a real highlight to meet the Council for a Day students and hear all about their creative ideas for Waterloo’s future.

Big thanks to Rotary Waterloo for hosting such a fantastic event in support of Waterloo Wayside!

I was honoured to attend the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 530 - Waterloo Awards Night in City of Waterloo on Friday evening to celebrate and recognize the achievements of Waterloo students involved in the Remembrance Day Literary & Poster Contest.

Awards were presented to students whose artwork and literary entries were recognized at various levels of the Royal Canadian Legion. The talent, commitment, and interest shown by these students helps ensure that we continue to remember those who sacrificed for our freedom.

Congratulations to all the participants and winners!

Great to attend the Accelerator Centre Global Impact Creator Showcase 2026 last week—delivered in partnership with the University of Waterloo—and see firsthand the incredible innovation happening in our community.

So many inspiring entrepreneurs doing meaningful, impactful work right here in City of Waterloo—especially my friends Robin Andrade McFarlane and Tom McFarlane. Proud to support and celebrate your work on Patient Pro, helping bring greater consistency to pharmacy education, and all the contributions from your fellow founders!
