Attackers have been actively scanning WordPress and Joomla sites since July, no joke.

There's a confirmed, ongoing global campaign with named CVEs, public exploit tooling, and businesses already hit.

Two separate things happened last month worth knowing about:

1) On July 9, the Australian Cyber Security Centre flagged a large scale exploitation campaign targeting CMS platforms worldwide. Joomla's JCE plugin alone has 2.5 million sites in scope and has been on CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities list since June!

2) Then on July 17, wp2shell dropped - a critical WordPress core vulnerability requiring no plugins, no login, no user interaction. WordPress forced automatic updates, which they almost never do.
