After arriving in Jutland, I made my way to the Flea Market.
Would I find the answers I was looking for? Or just Trouble?
Time will tell!

It was a grey day as I waited for the train out of Copenhagen. The wind blew, and I was grateful for my coat as the it whistled down the platform.
As we headed to the west I wondered if we would find the answers we were looking for before the sun dropped below the horizon

Billund: There are over a million plastic stories in the Home of the Brick. With the System in evolution, things are changing. The bricks that brought me joy as a child continue to engage, but the stories have changed, the blockiness gone and studs becoming so rare that a brick separator is increasingly irrelevant.

But where did it change? Can we pin it down to a single point? A single rogue element? The Rambling Brick is on the road, in search of answers while I prepare a talk for the Skaerbaek Fan Weekend.
Along the way, we will certainly encounter some new friends, old foes and the occasional red herring. But will the answer be forthcoming? Or will we be left with more questions?
The findings will come to the blog in due course. But are some things better left a mystery?

Here’s our first look at October’s LEGO® Ideas Release, 21371 Wallace and Gromit. Submitted by Pidelium as part of the 90s Throwback, the Next Chapter Challenge, this set captures the claymation essence of our titular heroes, as seen in A Close Shave.
The set consists of two character builds, along with their motorcycle and sidecar, has 1038 pieces, and will go on sale on the first of October 2026. It will be priced at $AUD 149.99/ $USD99.99 USD / 99.99 € / £89.99.
This building kit is inspired by a Fan Designer’s idea, which was selected as the Grand Prize entry in the LEGO Ideas ‘90s Throwback – the Next Chapter’ challenge. Full of iconic accessories, including crackers, a ball of wool and a diamond in the motorbike seat hatch, the model makes delightful shelf décor in your home or office.
Wallace and Gromit dominated the shop window in the early 90s, and they have been enduring characters for the entire family over the past 30+ years. I dare say we shall all approve of this build in the ramblingbrickhouse.

The set goes on sale in October, 2026.

The builds of Jeff Friesen ( on Instagram) are familiar to many LEGO Fans on Instagram: he has a certain style in the worlds he creates: whether Spaceships, Cities or Castles, his sense of line and colour is immediately recognizable. In his latest book - Building LEGO® Worlds - Create the Worlds You’ve Only Imagined (Nostarch Press, released August 2026) - he breaks down his process: from terraforming and landscaping, through to filling your new world with microscale life.
It’s a well put together book, with bright images of the worlds Jeff has created, with clear instructions and lots of inspiration, catering for builders of all skill levels and regardless of their parts libraries.
My full review is on the blog now at https://ramblingbrick.com/2026/08/31/building-lego-worlds-create-the-worlds-youve-only-imagined-book-review/ and you can get a 30% discount off your order from no starch press, using the code RAMBLING30 until September 5th 2026.
