FloweRescue

Flowery Friday feels 🌸🍁

from a workshop Roihuvuoren seniorikeskus

📣 Our October volunteer calendar is now up, you can find it through the link in our bio.

At FloweRescue we collect hävikki and surplus flowers from flower logistics centers, wholesalers, florists, designers and events; sort through to separate and compost the really old, broken and moldy bits; then clean and refresh the rest of the flowers so we can donate them to bring joy in the community.

We meet Thursdays and most Mondays to rescue the flowers. And, welcome newcomers, we will teach you what you need to know!

And, if you don’t see this until the sessions are full, don’t fret! Add yourself to the waitlist, as spaces often become available in the days before each event

🍁

Create with us ✍️ 🎨

Stop by tomorrow (1.9) between 16-17.00 to the Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo cafe in Teurastamo (Työpajankatu 2, place 19) for some free-form drawing and/or painting, inspired by flowers 🌸

You bring your creativity and we’ll bring paper, acrylic paint and brushes, and colored pencils.
The cafe, of course, will serve up hot and cold espresso drinks and teas, as well as tasty sweet and savory treats. And your purchases support FloweRescue’s charitable work ✨

See you tomorrow?

“So many smiles… happy seniors, helpful staff members and more than plentiful flowers. We had a large group altogether, 14-15 participants from the daycare center, so the abundance and variety of the flowers were much appreciated🙏 “

This sweet dispatch from flower fairy volunteer, Roma, about Friday’s Kukkia Kaikille workshop at Roihuvuoren seniorikeskus 💐 🧚

What a beautiful bunch of Tuesdays it’s been!

Since early May we’ve hosted a series of creative workshops each Tuesday afternoon at the Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo Päiväkahvibaari in Teurastamo

Painting, mindfulness, petals, mandalas, bouquets, even drawing little monsters 👹

We will continue these workshops through September- will you join us?

Drop us a line to tell us whether there are any workshops you’d like to come to again, or new ones you’d like to suggest!

And join us in thanking the wonderful creatives who have facilitated workshops with us so far:
- create your own little monster
- petal patterns
