Minneapolis, you showed up.

Over the weekend, the Inside Out Photobooth brought hundreds of faces into the heart of downtown, celebrating the people and creative energy that characterizes this city.

Thank you to everyone who stepped in front of the camera. Your participation is what gave this Action life. Each portrait begins with one person, but together, they become a collective image of Minneapolis.

That idea sits at the heart of Inside Out: using portraiture to bring individual faces and stories into public space, turning who we are into something we can see, share, and experience together.

Thank you Minneapolis for showing who you are, one portrait at a time.

This past weekend in Maine, the Inside Out Project and our Global Prison Art Program came together for a weekend centered on justice-impacted women, their families, and an exploration of continual growth and transformation.

We were hosted by Reentry Sisters , a Maine-based organization supporting women impacted by incarceration as they navigate reentry, rebuild their lives after incarceration, and reconnect with family and communities.

The weekend began with a screening of JR’s documentary Tehachapi and a conversation with Reentry Sisters and our Prison Art Program team, bringing together different perspectives and lived experiences around incarceration, reentry, and healing.

The following day, 38 people came together for ‘Still Becoming’, an Inside Out Action showcasing the portraits of women who have experienced incarceration in Maine, alongside the people who have walked with them: their children, parents, siblings, partners, and loved ones.

Incarceration ripples into families and communities. These portraits create a space for the stories of women — and their families — who have experienced separation, returned home, and are committed to continuing to heal, grow, and become

In July, 250 children across Merseyside shared what they wanted people to think about when it comes to the spaces they grow up in.

They spoke about feeling safe, caring for shared spaces, being included in decisions, and how young people are seen when they are out in their communities.

“Think of Us” came directly from one of the children and became the message at the heart of the Action.

Their portraits and voices now live along the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool, giving these young people a way to share their experiences and perspectives with the people around them.

Now, we’re on a mission to reach the places that haven’t heard of us yet, so even more communities can share their voice through art.

The Alliance Française network across Brazil came together around this shared message: learning French is not just about speaking another language. It is about opening your horizons, discovering new perspectives, and sometimes even questioning the way you see yourself.

In São Paulo, participants brought this message to life through an Inside Out Action, sharing their portraits and becoming part of this collective statement.

Together, their portraits give a face and a voice to the transformative power of language, education, and human connection.
