What does it mean to have an “uncircumcised ear”? 👂
Jeremiah 6:10 says:
“Their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken.”
When you look at this symbolically, it gets really interesting.
Circumcision involves cutting something away, and the ear represents our ability to hear, receive and perceive.
So ask yourself: What needs to be cut away for you to really hear?
Your conditioning?
Old beliefs?
Your ego?
Everything you’ve been taught about what scripture is supposed to mean?
Jesus repeatedly said, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
They all had ears. 😂
There’s a deeper level of hearing being talked about throughout scripture, one that requires us to actually look beneath the words and understand the symbolism.
So go back and read Jeremiah 6:10 again through this lens and see what YOU see. 👁️

I’m learning to let go of control.
I’m learning patience.
I’m learning to trust the process.
But most of all, I’m learning to LOVE from a distance every time “worry” shows up.
Chronicles of a mom while her daughter’s in Europe for the summer!

You can’t pour from an empty cup. 💗
I’m being reminded of that in a very real way right now.
My daughter is in Europe, and we’re on day three. And while I’m so excited for her and want her to have this experience, the mom in me has been struggling. The anxiety. The stress. The urge to check her location every five seconds just to reassure myself that she’s okay.
But staring at a little dot on a map all day isn’t filling my cup. 😂
So I’ve had to consciously pull myself back. To detach a little. To breathe. To do things that make ME feel good. To bring myself back into the present moment instead of allowing my mind to live thousands of miles away with her.
Because I can’t be there for her, or anyone else I love, if I’m completely depleted.
Sometimes filling your cup looks like doing something fun. Sometimes it looks like resting. And sometimes it looks like recognizing where your energy is going and choosing to bring some of it back to yourself.
That’s where I am right now. Learning to love her from afar while also remembering to love myself right here. 💗
