At NOVA ROCK Festival, around 120,000 beverage containers were returned using TOMRA R1, our multi-feed reverse vending solution designed for busy, high-volume environments.
By enabling users to return more than 100 containers simultaneously, TOMRA R1 helps make recycling quicker, easier and more convenient, while supporting event organizers in collecting valuable materials for recycling.

Earlier this month, colleagues at TOMRA pulled on their gloves for our annual clean-up around our headquarters, collecting litter and spending time outdoors with colleagues from across teams and departments. 🗑️♻️

☀️ This summer, we welcomed a talented group of students to our headquarters, bringing fresh perspectives, curiosity and energy to their internship experience.
Christine Næss and Gjermund Bjørnstad joined the Mechanical Department, where they explored how AI can support engineering workflows, with a particular focus on CAD and mechanical design. Along the way, they also gained hands-on experience in design for sustainability and maintenance of 3D printing systems. ⚙️🌱
A big thank you to Christine, Gjermund and all our summer interns for their valuable contributions and great efforts throughout the summer! 👏

💡 Today, the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) starts applying across Europe.
The PPWR revises previous legislation around packaging and package waste across the European Union’s 27 Member States. It considers packaging’s entire life cycle, from design to post-consumer recovery, setting requirements for separate collection of single-use drink containers and recycled content. ♻️
It is one of the biggest changes to European packaging policy in decades. 🇪🇺 The PPWR aims to reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste and foster a circular economy. ♾️

Plastic pollution is often thought of as something we can see. But one of the biggest challenges is nearly invisible. 🔬 https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0wHGV40
Microplastics – tiny plastic particles measuring 5mm or less – are now found throughout our oceans, in marine animals, and even in the food chain. 🌊 The majority of this pollution doesn’t start at sea, but on land.
Addressing the problem therefore means looking upstream – at how we produce, use, and collect plastic before it becomes pollution.
