Donington Park Preview: Simon Reid The British Superbike Championship's penultimate Showdown round of the year kicks off at Donington Park this coming weekend (2nd - 4th October) and Carl Cox BMW-By MLav Racing's Simon Reid will be aiming to repeat this season's previous podium performance there.

That’s a wrap on our MotoAmerica weekend at COTA 🇺🇸🏁
The final race results might not tell the full story, but there’s plenty to be proud of from an incredibly positive weekend for Simon Reid and the entire team.
A brand-new bike, a new circuit, 40°C+ conditions and Simon’s first-ever race weekend on Dunlop tyres meant there was plenty to learn, but the progress came quickly.
The highlight came in qualifying, with Simon putting it P1 in Superbike Cup and ahead of several Superbikes, an incredible result on just his second day riding on Dunlops and his first visit to COTA.
While we weren’t able to convert that pace into the race results we wanted, the weekend showed exactly what this project is capable of and gave us plenty to build on.
A massive thank you to alpha Racing, BMW Motorrad USA and Scheibe Racing for helping make this opportunity possible, and to everyone who supported Simon and Carl Cox Motorsport throughout the weekend.

Qualified P1 in the Superbike Cup today! 👊
Showed we’ve got good pace all weekend, especially our first weekend in MotoAmerica on Dunlops.
Unfortunately, the race ended early. I got a great drive onto the back straight, picked up a huge slipstream and arrived at the braking zone with a lot more speed than I’d had all weekend. Sucked in & got caught out and couldn’t get it stopped, especially with the extra fuel load.
I don’t think we have a straight this length anywhere in the UK!
Frustrating one, but that’s racing. Take the positives from pole, reset and go again tomorrow! ✊🏁

BUILDING TOWARDS COTA. 🔥 More valuable time on track for Simon Reid as preparations continue for his MotoAmerica wildcard at COTA (Circuit of the Americas).
Getting more laps aboard the alpha Racing-prepared BMW, Simon is settling into the bike, building confidence and getting everything dialled in ahead of the big race weekend.
