Had to explain to the passport officer why I’d only been here 4 days and what boat.. que a 5 minute chat and a lot of confusion until she looked utterly bewildered once she realised!
A week onboard the tanker.
Chief Cook- hands down just amazing. So kind but also wow- the food this man makes.
This is the provisions store - it’s basically an onboard shop!
Day 6 on board the tanker after being rescued at sea.
And it’s Saturday night which means a party and lots of food.
I’m going to have to not eat when I get home..
Day 5 on the Oil Tanker heading to Cape Town.

As a solo Atlantic veteran, she knew the mental price tag of an ocean crossing, but sharing a 28-foot boat through capsizing, baking heat, and equipment failures tested all of us in new ways- but she wouldn’t have wanted to spend it with any other team.
Stepping off the boat onto the deck of an oil tanker bound for Cape Town was heartbreaking. But as Lara put it, while we are devastated and numb to leave the boat behind, our mission to raise funds for and doesn’t stop here.
Salt-stained, sun-bleached but fierce as ever.
Day 4 after rescue.
Definitely feeling the adrenaline wearing off.. the shock of everything starting to hit.
