Tramshed Tech

Two down, one to go.

Over the past two weeks we’ve hosted the two AI.Gateway employer roundtables, bringing employers and industry partners around the table in Cardiff and Swansea.

The conversation: how AI is already being used in the workplace, how it might reshape roles over the coming years, and the skills employers believe will matter most.

These roundtables are where the AI.Gateway programme takes shape. Employers are telling us which roles they’re hiring for, which skills they value and which capabilities they expect.

That insight will directly shape the AI.Gateway curriculum, so the training our cohorts receive reflects what employers in Wales actually need.

There’s still time to get involved and help shape the training. Our third and final roundtable lands in North Wales on 17th September.

Congratulations to Rhianydd!

Rhianydd has just joined the board of North Gate Swansea’s Pride in Place Neighbourhood, bringing first-hand experience of the area’s strengths, opportunities and potential.

From sporting the hard hat during construction to launching Tramshed Tech Palace and building the community around it ever since, our Swansea Community Manager has been instrumental in bringing our newest home to life so this one’s thoroughly well deserved.

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Tramshed Tech, so it’s brilliant to see that reflected beyond our walls too.

Join us in congratulating Rhianydd, we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make!

Last week the Tramshed Tech team, along with a group of Welsh SMEs, visited the Isambard-AI supercomputer at the Bristol Centre for Supercomputing (BriCS).

This was an invitation we were glad to accept off the back of hosting the Welsh launch of the UK’s Sovereign AI Fund back in May!

We managed to time the visit with one of the hottest days of the year... but that didn’t stop us discussing access routes to the computer and future collaboration opportunities.

The Welsh SMEs we brought along shared the brilliant work they’ve been doing across the region and who knows, some of them may become users of Isambard-AI in the future!

Nata & Co brought a taste of Portugal to Cardiff for a special edition of Sweet Treat Tuesday 🇵🇹

Just what our members needed to beat the 3pm slump!

Alongside events like this, we also run Breakfast Club and End of Month socials across all our South Wales sites - one of the many perks of being a member.

And with the heat creeping back up, don’t forget all our sites have air con to help you escape it.
