New print in the shop!

Best sellers at this weeks market was a really mixed lot which is always fun to see. There was no front runner between bookmarks, stickers, cards or prints.

New print added to my website. I’m gradually moving away from Etsy so most prints are now only available directly through my website wayward.store ‘Feeling Blue’ has been a big hit at markets and my exhibition so I hope you like it too. Originally a painting turned into a print.

Strength in Bloom 20cmx20cm Screenprint

Make art you love not what you think people will like.
It will bring you more joy and help you find your actual customers. Your unique style will not go out of style.
Be unapologetic about your prices.
You are the only one that knows how much work and how much it cost to make your art don’t undersell yourself.
Explain your work.
People don’t know about your process, it helps explain pricing. Also helps people connect with you and your work it’s part of the beauty of shopping small.
Descriptions are important.
This connects to the point above. I have only just spent time finessing my descriptions online and even adding a description to the back of my prints. People connect with the story behind the art and to you the maker when they understand the inspiration.
Packaging.
This took me years to figure out! There are so many options. Right now I’m going with bio cello, 1500 micron recycled backing board, print description inside the cello. If posting I also include a thank you card, wrap in black recycled tissue paper and send in a do not bend envelope
