Good day for getting some big jobs done 💪

Had a transit in for routine maintenance, the customer requested the wet belt replaced due to mileage. The condition of the belt was a little worn and replaced at the perfect time, it goes to show with regular servicing the wet belt can last till its service interval. We went ahead replacing the wet belt, oil pump belt and all other required parts. Van was back on the road in no time 🚐💨

And here we have another wet belt.. but this time it’s a stripped belt 😩.. we removed the timing cover to reveal the state of the belt. We then continued to strip down the engine to carry out further checks, we removed the camshaft housing to find many smashed rocker arms. Our next step? A cylinder leakage test followed up with a smoke test to ensure no bent valves.. thankfully no further damage.
New rocker arms, cambox, wet belt and all other required parts. Van now running like a dream 👨‍🔧

Don’t leave your wet belts too late, prevention is better than the cure. Don’t ignore the warning signs of an imminent welt belt failure these warnings are
❌ Oil pressure warning on dash (this may come on and off)
❌ Oil light coming on dash
❌ Rock hard brake pedal
❌ Engine overheating

New year started with a bang 💥

Nissan NV400 in for an oil leak. We traced the leak to the intercooler pipe which has an internal seal failure. New intercooler pipe fitted and the van back on the road in no time 💨

We had a transit in for a loud squealing noise when the van was idling, we carried out an inspection and found the crank pulley bush split causing the noise. We replaced the crank pulley and fitted new belts. Van repaired and back with the customer 🚐

We had a Hyundai Ioniq recovered in as a non-start. The car had been looked at elsewhere and all vehicle faults were cleared before coming to us, which can make things difficult. We carried out a diagnostic assessment, firstly the 12V battery and high voltage battery’s were flat, the state of charge was at 10%.
We continued with our checks and found the fuel contaminated, we got to work removing and disposing of the contaminated fuel. We gave the fuel tank a thorough clean, new fuel filter fitted, fresh fuel into the tank, fuel lines cleaned and new spark plugs. We’ve removed the high voltage battery to get it charged as the high voltage battery state of charge is so low it won’t allow the car to start 🪫🔋

Renault traffic in for a strong smell of exhaust. We carried out an inspection to find the EGR cooler leaking soot which will give you a strong exhaust smell through the cabin. New EGR cooler fitted and the smell away, no strong exhaust smell in the cabin 👨‍🔧
