Come along for a brilliant musical story time. There will be great songs to listen, clap, dance, and play percussion to. If there are enough craft materials left, we may be able to re-run this in the afternoon too.

Soundscape Storytime! What a fun, medieval-inspired morning!๐
Today we had our very first 'Soundscape Storytime', as part of our Summer Reading Challenge Event Series - inspired by the nearby Craigmillar Castle.
There were readings from various children's picture books - such as 'The Castle the King Built' - featuring dragons, knights and princesses, with an accompanying interactive soundtrack. Hear the jousting sounds as the knights battle, stones being carved to build a castle! ๐ธ๐ถ๐ฐ
After our stories, we had a selection of themed snacks ('tournament trail mix' is certainly not just popcorn with sweets in it), colouring-in and crafts. ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ
A special shout out to all our readers who dressed up! We had a fabulous knight in a handmade costume, a dragon hat and a knight in a helmet. ๐ฐ๐
We hope to host another Soundscape Storytime soon - if anyone has any suggestions of themes or books, please reach out to the librarians / leave a comment. ๐
