Bleeding Verses
Blood for ink. Scars for a diary. Darkness for a home.
~ Alchemy Of Ruin ~
They left deep scars beneath my skin
A quiet, bruising cold
And taught me how their lies break down
When stories grow too old
I gather up the sharpest parts
The words they never said
And weave a shroud of sombre verse
Spun from the bleeding thread
Betrayal presses on the chest
A heavy, silent stone
While sadness learns to carve its name
Into my splintered bone
I turned to where I bury ghosts
And on the page I bled
They dealt me untold pain, so I
Gave them poetry instead.

~ Beyond Reflection ~
The mirror holds a stranger’s gaze,
My vicious critic in the dark,
Replaying my regretful days
And fanning every bitter spark.
I carry chains no one can see,
Made up fears and phantom plots,
A grievous heart that won't agree
To untie all these mental knots.
I wish that I could mute the sound,
Turn down the static of this noise,
And trade the harsh, relentless pound
To hear a gentler, kinder voice.
The path I walked was lost in smoke,
Yet here, amid the ashen stains,
I’ll break the spell the shadows spoke
To find some peace in what remains.

~ Sweet Misery ~
I’d drink the poison from your lips
And beg you for a deeper draft
To sink beneath your fingertips
Drawn to the wreckage of your craft
I’d press your blade against my flesh
And call the bleeding sweet relief
For loving you is slow, dark death
Yet losing you brings deeper grief
So cut this beating heart from me
And hold it dripping in the light
If wanting you is agony
I’d choose this torment every night.

~ Rupture ~
The slow starvation of the heart
A masterpiece torn clean apart
You planted thorns beneath my skin
Then locked the door from deep within
Fate carved your cruelty in my chest
A callous ghost that would not rest
Love isn't soft, or kind, or mild
It’s teeth and claws and running wild
I swallow glass to speak your praise
And bleed away my endless days
It binds my wrists in silk and wire
A quiet, all consuming pyre
You bent my ribs into a cage,
And hid the key inside your rage
I gasp for air, and swallow shame
As every breath chokes on your name.

~ Vegetative State ~
The cellar breathes a humid sigh
Where pale, unblinking tubers spy
I peeled the skin back from my wrist
To graft the roots the sun had missed
The tendrils drank, they liked the heat
And spun a shroud around my feet
Now velvet moss replaces tongue
And from my ribs, the spores are hung
A quiet, blooming, wet decay
My slowly dripping vertebrae
The house grows solemn green, and deep
Come sit a while, and watch me creep.

~ One For The Road ~
The headlights cut the heavy fog
We struck what I believed a dog
You stayed inside, the wipers whined
While I got out to check behind
There was no fur, no bloody tail
Just shattered glass and crimson hail
I saw a hand, a twisted shoe
And then the face..but it was you
I stumbled to the driver's door
And screamed for help, a frantic roar
But sitting there behind the wheel
Your smile was glinting cold as steel
The engine revved, the locks clicked tight
And I was left out in the night
The tires spun, I watched you flee
Then realized the co**se was me.

~ Ghosted ~
Our shadows connected before we even met
whispering secrets like currency we’d never spend
Spoken in a language only the lonely know
We mapped the bruises on each other’s history
And for a fleeting moment
The cold, hard world softened
I bared my throat, you held your breath
Then, the static took you
A phantom evaporating
Into the woodwork of my days
Now I sit in the silence of an unread line
Wondering which version of you was the truth
The one that occupied me in the dark
or the one that buried me there.

~ Harm ~
The skin becomes a canvas
for a pain that has no word
A quiet, silver language
that is felt but never heard
When the world feels caught in static
too heavy, or too hollow
The edge creates a focus
for the ghost of grief to follow
It’s a secret etched in crimson
a map of battles fought
The relief is just a whisper
though it’s dearly, deeply bought
But beneath the thin red valley
and the shadow of the blade
Is a heart that’s still worth keeping
though it’s weary and afraid
You are more than just the marking
more than lines upon a limb
You are the light that’s struggling
when the room is growing dim
The healing isn't linear
and the scars may tell a tale
But the breath you’re taking even now
proves that you did not fail.
