Pawsitive Pathways

Reactivity Isn’t “Bad Behaviour”
Reactivity is communication.
It’s your dog saying, “I’m overwhelmed,” “I’m scared,” or “I need more space.”
When we listen instead of punish, we can help them feel safer and more confident.
Small steps. Big changes. You’re not alone in this.

Why “Calm First” Training Works
A calm dog can learn. A stressed dog can’t.
Before we teach behaviours, we help dogs feel safe — lowering arousal, building trust, and creating space for real learning.
If your dog struggles to focus, it’s not stubbornness. It’s stress.
Start with calm, and everything else becomes easier.

What Pawsitive Pathways Stands For
At Pawsitive Pathways, we believe:
• Dogs deserve to feel safe
• Owners deserve to feel supported
• Training should be kind, clear, and grounded in behavioural science

If that resonates with you, follow along — we’ve got lots to share.
