💗 The Empire State Building Turned Pink for Dolly Parton.

At exactly 9:25 p.m. on August 25, 2026, New York City’s iconic Empire State Building lit up in sparkling pink to honor Dolly Parton following her reported passing at age 80.

The timing carried a special meaning.

9:25 was chosen as a tribute to her legendary song “9 to 5.”

The emotional tribute came just 17 months after the passing of Dolly’s husband, Carl Thomas Dean, who died in March 2025 at age 82. The couple had been married for nearly 60 years and largely kept their relationship away from the spotlight.

From Tennessee to New York City, tributes continue to honor the singer and songwriter whose music touched generations.

And for one unforgettable moment, the New York skyline sparkled pink for Dolly Parton. 💗🎶🕊️
