“KOGG do not sound like anybody else. They are gloriously themselves, and they have produced an album that is perfect on its own terms – a completely absorbing, deliciously funky, cinematic, dance-inducing listen that somehow reclaims experimental music, contemporary classical and jazz all in one go. It is both an important statement, and a great record.” - on . 🔥

Announcing: will join for a special live bill at on June 11th ✨

A trailblazing musical polymath, NikNak has carved out a distinctive space through turntablism, immersive composition and captivating improvised performance. Heralded by DJ Mag, Clash, The Wire and Resident Advisor, her latest album Ireti was named one of 2024’s best albums by Mixmag and Bandcamp.
The night also marks the launch of KOGG’s debut album Mechanista. Combining experimental electronica, contemporary composition and creative invention, Selena Kay and Cerys Hogg perform with a four-piece brass section for the first time.

Live electronics, DIY contraptions, video and acoustic instruments weave together through off-centre melodies, elastic rhythms and projected visuals, creating a performance that is theatrical, tactile and mischievous.

📣Artist Development Opportunity 📣

nonclassical AiR 2026 – applications open now!

Are you a UK-based composer working within the contemporary classical, experimental or electronic music sphere?

We’re looking for four early-career composers to join nonclassical AiR (Artists in Residence), our long-running artist development programme supporting new voices in contemporary music. At least one place will be reserved for an artist without formal classical training or Western notation experience.

Since launching in 2016, the programme has supported composers including Nneka Cummins, Blasio Kavuma, NWAKKE, Laurence Osborn and Atefeh Einali, with alumni going on to receive Ivor Novello and RPS Awards, major commissions including BBC Proms and LA Philharmonic, and opportunities with publishers and international festivals.

Selected artists will receive:
💰 £1,000 commission for a new work
💿 a track release on our Outside the Lines digital EP
🎓 mentoring with an artist of your choice
📈 professional career coaching
💼 tailored training sessions and industry insight

Subject to successful fundraising, selected artists may also take part in a second year of the programme, developing a new work for ensemble (remunerated at Musicians’ Union commission rates) and contributing to Nonclassical’s programme of events, alongside further professional development.

nonclassical AiR supports unsigned, unpublished composers creating adventurous new contemporary classical, electronic and experimental music.

📅 Applications open 13 April, 13:00 BST
📅Deadline 11 May, 10:00 BST
