Bambino at 8 weeks + 6 days 🤍

Ever wondered what you’re actually looking at on an early pregnancy ultrasound?

At 6 weeks, we can often see a tiny baby, a little heartbeat flickering away and the yolk sac (that little Polo mint-looking structure next to baby!).

By almost 9 weeks, Bambino is significantly bigger than the yolk sac, the head and body are becoming more defined, and we can start to identify the umbilical cord more clearly.

Our favourite early pregnancy scan timeline?

We love scanning at 6 weeks for that first little glimpse, followed by another scan between late 8 weeks and 10 weeks to see just how much Bambino has grown and developed.

Capture time starts from 26 weeks, but 28, 29 & 30 weeks is ……..UNREAL 😍

Bambino starts getting that little bit chunkier, those cheeks start filling out and their little facial features become even more gorgeous to see.

I know I’m not your ordinary healthcare professional… and truthfully, I wouldn’t ever want to be🤍

I’m different. I bring a different energy, a different vibe into the room and I’m proud of that.

What people don’t always see behind the smile is the endless hard work. The obsessing. The perfecting. The 101 questions I ask myself about what more I can do, what I can improve and where I can take this next.

I’m seriously ambitious and I work SO hard for everything I want.

But I also want to be a role model for the girls out there who have ever been told “you’ll never make it.”

Someone said those exact words to me over 10 years ago.

What did that even mean?! 😂

Funny really, because that comment stuck to me like glue. And instead of breaking me, it became one of the things that drove me to here.

So to the girl who’s been underestimated, told she’s too much, too different or that she’ll never make it…

Why do we recommend from 6 weeks?

By around 6 weeks, depending on your dates and when you ovulated, ultrasound may be able to confirm the pregnancy is developing within the uterus, identify whether there is one baby or more, visualise the gestational and yolk sacs, see baby and their heartbeat.

It also gives us the opportunity to assess your ovaries and surrounding areas as part of your early pregnancy assessment🤍⚡️🙌🏽🙏🏽🫶🏽✨💫

Our Postpartum Check, available from 6 weeks to 12 months postpartum, assesses your uterus, endometrium and ovaries following pregnancy… including looking at the uterine cavity and your recovery following birth.

Periods can return quickly for some women, while for others they take much longer. Ovulation can also occur before your first period, meaning your ovaries may already be active before you even realise.

Ultrasound can also identify findings that may require further assessment, including suspected retained pregnancy tissue, which can sometimes be associated with ongoing or abnormal bleeding after birth.
