At my age it’s dangerous to get too excited. But with the right feeding and patience this 5yrd old hockaday c**k has just filled 3&4 to one of my own bred 2yr old hens (spruce/Adams/Marchant/moorhouse mix) I put Breedplus pro in fingers draws in the afternoon and when the hens leave the nest the boys get a chance. Bingo!!

We always try and under commit and over deliver. A big thanks to the dispatch team who managed a central London hotel for a delivery before the client flew home, even with the Christmas chaos they managed it- top work everyone

For those of you rolling one season into the next just a gentle reminder as the temperate and humidity changes. Don’t be complacent with redmite. I’m opting to paint the boxes and inners with DE paste (10kg £17 eBay) and put a teaspoon of ‘D mite in the concaves. As a trail I’m also going to deploy some nematodes around the birdroom and see if they get into awkward corners- just a shame next day delivery to the Uk takes 4 days!!

Using the box after just two days.
Lovely story of a hen who escaped and let 6 eggs go cold for six hours. When she returned and sat in the eggs a day later the first one hatched and another today- parents fed on avi-smart breed plus in the soft food and breed plus pro in finger draws. I guess feeding for success and fit babies starts early 😉
