Teams is adding AI notes for in-person meetings, so key points, decisions and actions are captured as they happen. Best bit: you decide when AI joins the room, and when it very much doesn't.

You've typed those three emails more times than you'd like to admit. Outlook is adding automatic replies by rule, so customers, suppliers and certain senders each get their own. Automate the routine ones. Keep the human ones human.

No jokes today.
We'd normally be posting something else, but today is the first National Mensch Day, in memory of Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby, so we're pausing and passing this on instead.
A mensch is someone decent, dependable and warm, who looks out for the people around them.
Today one of our engineers was on a call with a client who was having a really hard day. He put the technical problem to one side and just talked to them. Then he fixed it.
He's a mensch, and we're lucky to work with him.

Graeme Morris of Cloud Accountancy UK noticed a burning smell near his IT cabinet. We came out and found the plug socket beside it running dangerously hot, even though it was switched off. An electrician replaced it the same day.

Somewhere out there, a burglar has found out that one brand of lock opens with a teaspoon. The lock company hasn't heard. Neither have you. He's having a lovely week. 🥄
That's basically a zero day attack: a weakness in software that nobody has a fix for, because nobody knows it's there yet. And criminals are now using AI to churn out new ones faster than ever. Cheering, isn't it.

A text code is not a lock.
It keeps most people out, but not the ones who are trying. Fake login pages, SIM swaps and snooping lock screens all get round it. Microsoft is retiring its own text and voice codes for Microsoft 365 from 1 February 2027, so now's a good time to switch to an authenticator app or passkey.
