STEM Squad

On the back of all our tutees getting the Nat5 result they were aiming for (at least a grade above prelims), we've had a fantastic weekend rounding off our Summer STEM sessions at Letham4All, just more left before the schools return.

We then got to run an extra special session for children in care from across Perth and Kinross on Monday.

Now to prep for the coming year's tutoring, plan the next few STEM parties and finalise the start of year STEM staff training at local Primary and Specialist schools

Absolutely bursting with pride today!

Every tutee achieved the grade they were aiming for. Every single one.

And it is all down to their hard work; the effort they put in to the tutoring, but the unseen hours before and after each session.

For some it was their favourite subject, others it was the least favourite, but they all stuck with it and have the grades to reward their hard work.

In 1999 the UK had a total solar eclipse.

I was 9, it was a moment I'll never forget.

On 12 August the UK will see a 90%+ eclipse.

This will be the best solar eclipse until 2090 in the UK and therefore the best eclipse you'll likely ever enjoy with your children.

Get some ISO certified solar glasses and get outside and watch it!

We've been taking a break from Facebook recently, but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy! Here's an update, along with some Lego Challenges to keep the wee ones (and big ones) busy!

Huge thanks to Barnardo's for hiring us to run some STEM activities with P7-S1 transition students

Letham4All have been kind enough to host us for Summer Science Explorer sessions where we have designed paper planes, catapults, tested acids and alkalis and more

We have some exciting Primary STEM INSET days booked across Scotland for 2026 with very limited space for August left.

And of course we continue to deliver STEM birthday parties, tutor our local and international Physics students and ESAT entrance exam tutoring is well underway.

The last 2 terms have been very busy, so a HUGE thank you to all the mini scientists, parents, carers, charities, schools, councils, teachers and agencies with whom we have worked.

It's been non-stop, in a good way. Aroune 3,000 children have had access to a STEM lesson, workshops, party or tutoring since January and we have a lot more lined up!

But we are taking this week to soak up some sun in England, read a few books and enjoy the time off.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everyone who has out their trust in me to run a class, tutor their child or deliver workshops.

I'm running A-Level, Nat5 and GCSE Physics tutoring this year.

What an amazing afternoon 😍💥

Our second Summer Fayre of the year saw us run an action packed Rocket launching session with hundreds of kids at Heron Hill Primary School with the new star of the show, Copernicus the Cactus 🌵🌞

*I didn't enjoy putting the rocket tent up in the wind 🤣

For all those Physics students who now only work in Kelvins 😉

Having unbelievably found 2 dogs locked in cars, in the Sun, it feels about the right time to post this!

Remember this is the temperature in the shade and you should NEVER leave a dig in a car on a sunny day, if you do, I hope you always find Lego in your shoes. 💥

And if anyone tells you 30C is twice as hot as 15C, kindly point out the error of their ways 🤓
