Benji is currently at the specialist veterinary hospital with his devoted foster mum, Jools, by his side.

He has been diagnosed with thrombocytopenia, which means his platelet count is dangerously low. The specialist team is monitoring him closely, and he may need a blood transfusion. Sadly, Benji will need to remain in the hospital overnight.

Benji came into our rescue over a year ago with his sister, Poppy, after their owner was no longer able to care for them. Last year, they found their way into the most wonderful foster home. The love, patience and dedication shown by Jools and her mum have completely transformed them both.

Benji and Poppy are such lovely dogs and are deeply loved. We are all incredibly worried as we wait for further news, but we know Benji is in the very best place and surrounded by people who care about him.

Leaving him at the hospital tonight will be incredibly difficult for Jools. Please keep our precious boy, Jools and her mum in your thoughts. We will share an update as soon as we know more. 🐾💙

🐾 BRANSTON PICKLE IS SEARCHING FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY! 🐾

Branston was abandoned at just a few weeks old, but thankfully he found his way to Forget Me Not Reading Rescues. Now, at 16 weeks old, this gorgeous boy is ready to begin the next chapter of his life. 🧡

Branston Pickle is loving, playful and full of puppy energy! He is a bright, affectionate little boy who gets along well with other dogs and loves being involved in everything.

Branston’s brother will be leaving foster care for his forever home in two weeks’ time, and we would dearly love to find the right home for our beautiful Branston too. 🏡

What type of home does Branston need?

🐾 Active people who will include him in family life
🐾 A secure, fully enclosed garden
🐾 Someone committed to continuing his socialisation
🐾 A family willing to invest time in his training
🐾 People who understand that puppies need patience, routine and plenty of love

Branston will be placed on a three-month Foster to Adopt agreement, allowing everyone time to make sure he has found exactly the right home.

The rescue provides five individual one-to-one training sessions before adoption, and his new family will be fully supported throughout the process.

Once adopted, Branston will have lifetime rescue back-up from Forget Me Not Reading Rescues. We will always be here for him. 💙

🐾 EMMA & BENNY ARE CLIMBING TWO MOUNTAINS FOR OUR RESCUE DOGS! 🏔️🐶

Sometimes, people do truly amazing things to raise funds for the Forget Me Not Rescue Dogs and help us continue supporting dogs and their owners within our community.

The truth is, we are always living on the edge financially. It costs us more than £3,000 every month to keep our rescue dogs safe in foster homes and kennels, healthy, groomed and receiving the training they need.

Every donation helps to keep a rescue dog safe. ❤️

But sometimes, somebody goes the extra mile—quite literally!

On 27 September, the incredible Emma Harris and her little dog Benny will be climbing the formidable Scafell Pike.

Then, as if that were not enough, on 29 September, Emma and Benny will be climbing all the way to the summit of Ben Nevis!

Just Emma and Benny, climbing two incredibly challenging mountains, with every difficult step raising vital funds for the Forget Me Not dogs. 🐾🏔️

Emma hopes to raise £1,000. If you can donate—even just a few pounds—please help this wonderful pair reach their target.

💙 JUST LOOK AT BRANSTON’S BEAUTIFUL FACE 💙

Wonderful news—Branston’s brother Milo has been chosen and will soon begin the next chapter of his life. We are absolutely delighted for Milo, but it also means that little Branston will be watching his brother leave while he continues waiting for someone to choose him too.

These beautiful boys were abandoned together when they were tiny. They are now approximately 16 weeks old, and Branston is a very bright, clever and loving baby with so much potential.

Branston is fully vaccinated and will come with a training package. He will need a committed family who understands that raising a clever young puppy takes time, consistency, positive training and plenty of mental stimulation.

He will be placed through our three-month Foster-to-Adopt programme, allowing everyone the time and support needed to make sure it is the right match.

His new family will need to complete our usual home check, references, meetings and training requirements.

It’s such a funny old life, don’t you think?

Sometimes the strangest little ideas pop into my head—things I feel I should do and places I suddenly want to be.

Yesterday, I decided I should drag the bell tent out from under the stairs, where it has been hiding after being used only once, and pitch it somewhere in the wilderness…just me and my dogs.

Today, I suddenly felt that I needed to be beside the sea.

I don’t know where these thoughts come from. Perhaps they are little whispers from the universe. But there is always one reason they never quite come to fruition—my dogs and the rescue dogs are here.

Somehow, I was directed down this beautiful, exhausting and completely crazy path called dog rescue. Along the way, I have met some equally crazy, wonderful, dog-loving people who now walk that path beside me.

And then I stop. I take a deep breath, look at all those precious faces and think…my life really couldn’t be any better than one shared with dogs.

Perhaps it was always meant to be this way. Perhaps I was always meant to meet these wonderful people and help these dogs find safety, love and hope.

Even on the difficult days—and there are many—when I worry about money, foster homes and whether we will be able to say “yes” to the next dog desperately needing us, I look into those trusting eyes and think…

Somehow, I don’t know how, things are going to be all right.

Because this crazy life chose me—and I wouldn’t change it for the world. 💙🐾
