What a brilliant day at our Smart Works Reading Fashion Sale at Reading Minster last weekend. You helped to raise over £3,000!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, shopped, browsed, brought friends and helped make the day such a success. We loved seeing so many of you finding fabulous new and pre-loved pieces, and giving them a new home!

Every purchase made on the day helps support Smart Works Reading and the women who come through our doors, enabling us to provide free interview clothing and coaching to help women feel confident and ready to take their next step into employment.

Come back from holiday with a suitcase full of those little hotel toiletries you were definitely going to use… and now realise you probably never will? 😅

We can put them to good use!

We’re looking for donations of new and unopened travel-size toiletries for the women we support at Smart Works Reading, including:

✨ Shower gel & body lotion
✨ Mini fragrances
✨ Deodorant
✨ Skincare
✨ Other travel-size toiletries

Whether they’re unused hotel minis, travel sizes you’ve accumulated or part of a bathroom-cupboard clear-out, we’d love to have them.

These little essentials can make a real difference to the women coming through our doors and are a lovely addition to the support we provide. 💛

We Need Your Help! Smart Workwear Trousers 👖

Our wardrobe is running low on smart trousers in sizes 16 and 18 – and we need your help!

When women come to Smart Works preparing for interviews, they need professional trousers that fit, feel confident, and look amazing. Right now, we're particularly short of these sizes.

If you have smart workwear trousers you no longer wear – and they still look great – please donate them to us!

Think tailored trousers, business wear, smart blacks and navies. Any brand. Any style. If it's interview-ready and in good condition, we'd love to give it a second life.

How to donate:

Drop items at our Reading Centre during office hours, or call us to arrange a time that suits you. It's a great chance to pop in and see the centre – and meet the team! 💙

When ‘T’ first came to Smart Works for coaching and a dressing this summer, she was ready to take the next step in her career.

Just five weeks later, she’s got the job! 👏

‘T’ will soon be starting a new role as a Teaching Assistant and cover teacher, and we couldn’t be happier for her.

From finding an outfit that helps you feel like yourself at interview, to one-to-one coaching that helps you recognise and communicate everything you have to offer, our aim is to help women walk into interviews feeling prepared, confident and ready.
