Late Bloomer in a Wallflower Suit turns one today.

I made this record because the songs wouldn’t let me go. I released it with no expectations. What I didn’t expect were the messages from people who said that a song meant something to them, that it inspired them to start a band, finally record their own record, or pick the guitar back up after years away. That’s the stuff that stays with me.

If you listened, thank you. You made it something bigger than I realized it could be.

There’s something special about playing a room like Smith’s Olde Bar again. Specially with so many familiar faces, new friends, and people who’ve been following these songs for a while. Nights like that remind me why I keep doing this.

Huge thanks to Hydra Fighter and Anna Calvin for sharing the stage, and to everyone who helped make the night happen behind the scenes.

It felt like a meaningful closing chapter for Late Bloomer in a Wallflower Suit with The Nightbirds and also the start of whatever comes next.

One year ago we celebrated the release of Late Bloomer in a Wallflower Suit at Smith’s Olde Bar.

That night meant more to me than I probably knew how to say at the time. Those songs were written across a season of change, friendship, loss, and finding my footing again. Getting to share them in a room full of people who cared enough to show up is something I’ll never forget.

So it feels right to come back and celebrate the anniversary together in the same place.
