This week, we partnered with Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Agri-Impact Limited and Agro Kings to train over 200 young women in tomato production in the Whuti/Srogbe and Woe-Afedome communities.

Participants received both theoretical and practical training on modern tomato nursery establishments, crop management, disease prevention, fungal infection control, and other best practices for profitable tomato farming.

We extend our sincere appreciation to MoFA, Agri-Impact Limited, and Agrokings Limited for making this impactful training possible and for investing in the future of women in agriculture.

‎𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

‎ We are excited to partner with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Agri-Impact Limited, and Agrokings Limited to deliver a 2-day tomato production training programme for young female farmers in the Anloga District.
‎
‎The training will equip participants with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for profitable open-field tomato production, covering crop planning, establishment, management, pest and disease control, harvesting, post-harvest handling, and marketing.

‎On May 26, Anne Heleen Bijl facilitated her final workshop as WAGII welcomed members of the Edudzi and Tsormenenyo groups in the Anloga District. The session focused on the Six Thinking Hats, sales techniques, and how to turn vision into reality through purposeful action.

‎It has been two weeks of learning, inspiration, and growth, leaving participants better equipped to lead, innovate, and create impact in their communities.

Today, we had the privilege of taking Anne Heleen Bijl to our local radio station, Radio Hogbe to discuss the project she is undertaking with WAGII and SetSen Innovation Hub. The discussion focused on strengthening our systems, empowering women through agriculture and innovation, and creating sustainable opportunities for young women and the wider community.

‎On May 24, WAGII and SetSen Innovation Hub had the honour of accepting a special invitation from the Tsormenenyo Women Association in Anyanui, Anloga District, together with Anne Heleen Bijl. The association was eager to engage with the exceptional insights and experience she brings.

‎During the program, Anne Heleen shared powerful lessons on the “5 Languages of Appreciation” as a key to building relationships and unlocking opportunities. It was an inspiring and impactful encounter for all participants.

‎Today, we paid a courtesy visit to Togbui Hatsu III, Dufia (Traditional Leader) of Dzita, where Anne Heleen Bijl was formally introduced. It was a memorable and culturally enriching occasion, during which she was honored with one of the precious Anlo beads and bestowed with the traditional name “Mama Mawuena” in recognition of the impact she is making within the Anlo communities.

‎On May 23, SetSen Innovation Hub team had a special session with Anne Heleen Bijl on Mind Mapping and its role in project design, implementation and management. During the session, we experienced an exciting “AHA!” moment as we discovered the name for our business acceleration project. It was truly an inspiring and exceptional encounter.
