Last Friday, the AWAT Foundation, in partnership with Freefavour Hope Missions Organisation, celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day at Chiraa Senior High School. Students received education on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on dysmenorrhoea and addressing common menstrual myths. The team also distributed sanitary pads to about 500 students. We commend everyone who contributed to the success of this impactful outreach. Ayekoo to the team!

As we celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene day, we focus our attention on creating awareness on Dysmenorrhoea(menstrual pain). Start the conversation, do not stop.

World Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated across the globe every 28th May to raise awareness and address issues surrounding menstrual health and hygiene.

This year, we are proud to partner with the Freefavour Hope Foundation LBG to commemorate the day at Chiraa Senior High School.

Our focus this year is to educate and create awareness on poor menstrual health practices, while also addressing misconceptions surrounding menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea).

Together, let’s break the stigma, promote healthy conversations, and empower young girls with the right knowledge and support.
