Kostas Maskalides

Kostas Maskalides is an electronic music artist and synthesizer-focused composer exploring the intersection of ambient, cinematic, and celestial electronica. Hailing from Athens, Greece, and based in Belgium for nearly two decades, Kostas first established a global presence within the melodic techno scene through a vast discography spanning more than 50 record labels and extensive tours across Europe. However, the club circuit eventually gave way to new music ventures as Kostas delved deeper into the art of electronic music synthesis and a growing fascination with minimalism. Emphasizing atmosphere, tonal detail, and gradual development, Kostas evolved into a prominent ambient music artist favoring a more introspective and textural sound. Working extensively with synthesizers and a wide range of processing techniques, Kostas produces music rich in organic character by introducing granular, saturated, and lo-fi textures, while occasionally incorporating neoclassical elements. Deeply influenced by the pioneering electronic landscapes of Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre, as well as the contemporary approaches of Nils Frahm and Max Cooper, his work reflects a musical perspective that is in constant, deliberate evolution. Driven by a passion to explore new emotional territories through sound, he is committed to a continuous journey of sonic discovery. Record Labels:
