What makes Embody different? 🤍
Our classes are kept small, with a maximum of 8 people in Reformer and 12 in Mat, so our teachers have more time to offer individual guidance and support.
Embody is led by Jess, who is Polestar Comprehensive certified, has 10 years’ teaching experience and has spent the past five years working as a Pilates educator.
Across our two Bray studios, you can choose from Reformer, Mat Pilates, Barre, Yoga and Strength X, with different Reformer levels to help you find the right place to start.

Our October class theme is Balance & Control 🙌
Throughout the month, our Reformer, Mat and Barre classes will focus on building greater stability, coordination and control.
The aim isn’t to stay perfectly still. It’s about noticing how your body responds, finding your stability and staying in control as you move.
Expect plenty of focused work and probably a few wobbles along the way. They’re all part of it!

“Do I need to be flexible to start Pilates?”
This is the number one question we get asked by beginners. And the answer is no 🤍
You don’t need to be able to touch your toes or have any Pilates experience. We’ll talk you through the movements and help you get comfortable, especially if it’s your first time on a reformer.
There’s plenty of time to work on flexibility. You don’t need to have it all figured out before your first class.
Not sure which class to book? Send us a message and we’ll help you find the right one.

Why are we always encouraging you to slow things down in class? 😅
Because when it comes to Pilates, slower often means more challenging — and more effective.
Moving with control gives you the opportunity to focus on alignment, precision and technique, rather than simply rushing through each exercise. By slowing the movement down, your muscles also spend more time under tension, helping to develop strength, control and muscular endurance.
A slower pace can also encourage greater body awareness. You become more conscious of your range of motion, stability and mobility, while noticing where you may be holding unnecessary tension or compensating more on one side than the other.
Pilates is not about completing as many repetitions as possible. It is about the quality and intention behind each movement.
So, when your instructor asks you to slow down, we promise there is a method behind the madness 😂
Do you find the slower, more controlled movements more challenging?

Meet Steph ✨
We’re delighted to introduce Steph, one of our Pilates instructors here at Embody! We asked her a few questions so you can get to know her a little better.
What do you love most about teaching at Embody?
“I love the energy in the studio and seeing how people feel after a class. It’s so rewarding watching clients switch off for that hour, enjoy their movement and leave feeling stronger.”
How would you describe your teaching style?
Easygoing • Fun • Encouraging
What do you hope clients take away from your classes?
“I hope clients leave feeling strong, balanced and more connected, both mentally and physically. For me, Pilates is more than just a workout. It’s time to switch off from everything else, focus on yourself and give your mind and body some attention.”
What do you enjoy outside the studio?
“Family time is a big one for me. I love getting out for hikes with my husband and three kids, coffee and hot chocolate dates, and keeping active at the gym. I’m also really interested in nutrition and love baking when I get the chance!”
We’re so happy to have Steph as part of the Embody team. Be sure to say hello next time you see her in the studio 🤍

September’s theme at Embody is BACK TO BASICS ✨
Sometimes the best way to make progress is to go back to the foundations.
Throughout September, our Reformer and Mat classes will have an extra focus on the things that make each movement count: alignment, stability, control and good technique.
It’s a chance to slow things down, notice the little details and get more from exercises you may have done hundreds of times before.🤍
See you in class!

There are a few things we hear all the time 👀
“You need to be flexible before starting.”
“Pilates looks easy.”
“Isn’t it just stretching?”
The reality? Slow and controlled doesn’t mean easy. Pilates challenges strength, balance and coordination in ways people often don’t expect.
And while many people start Pilates for one reason — stronger core, better posture, less back pain — they often stay for the benefits they weren’t expecting too. More energy, moving more comfortably, feeling stronger in everyday life and simply feeling better in their body 🤍
16/05/2026
People often start Pilates hoping to feel stronger or improve their posture, however the benefits usually go far beyond that.
Over time, clients often notice:
• better mobility
• improved balance
• more energy
• less tension and stiffness
• better sleep
• feeling calmer and more connected mentally
One of the reasons Pilates is so effective is that it focuses on how your body moves and functions as a whole — not just one muscle group or fitness goal.
The changes can feel subtle at first, but they build over time and start to show up in everyday life too 🤍.

Starting Pilates can feel intimidating — especially if you think you need to already be flexible, strong, or know what you’re doing.
At Embody, that’s never the expectation.
Our classes are designed to feel supportive, welcoming, and approachable from the moment you walk through the door. Whether you’re completely new to Pilates or returning after time away, our instructors guide you throughout the class with clear instruction, modifications, and plenty of encouragement.
We focus on quality of movement over rushing through exercises — helping you build strength, mobility, control, and confidence in your body at your own pace.
Most people leave their first class feeling taller, stronger, and more capable than when they arrived.
If you’ve been thinking about trying Pilates, we’d love to welcome you into the studio.
