We are a group coming together to raise awareness and to oppose the use of prime farmland for solar industrial parks in our Parish of Killeagh and Inch.

We are based in a very rural, peaceful community. We are pro renewables on every roof in Ireland.

Great news from Galway!!

BREAKING: GALWAY COUNTY COUNCIL REFUSES BELLVILLE SOLAR FARM

Galway County Council has this morning REFUSED planning permission for Heron Solar Ltd's 239 hectare Bellville Solar Farm (26/61362), citing 11 separate reasons including insufficient legal consent for the land, unresolved risk to Lough Corrib SAC, and a "deficient and incomplete" archaeological assessment.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to make a submission, raise concerns and stand up for their community.

Today, we celebrate. Well done to all the community.

So today the planning for an 800 acre solar power plant and 56 containers full of batteries (planning ref 26/2133) was made invalid. This is the second time the planning has been made invalid. We registered 412 objections against this massive scale industrial take over. We would like to thank every single person who objected and stood up for our community! On the very same day we welcomed our 1000th follower to this page - a great day for the parish!!!!

ESB crews ‘lying down on the road not bothering to direct traffic’ as Wexford roads closed without notice during solar project 24/09/2026

Be warned....

ESB crews ‘lying down on the road not bothering to direct traffic’ as Wexford roads closed without notice during solar project Upon its completion the Wexford Hub Solar Farm will generate enough electricity to power approximately 25,000 homes, farms and businesses and will significantly lower the county’s carbon footprint.

You really do have to wonder why grants are not being made available to farmers to cover every roof on their premises in solar panels rather than covering their lush green grass. I think its an outstanding way to support renewables and also to top up the farm income by giving back to the grid and getting paid for it. However, as we know the government want to crack down on this as well! There is something very rotten in the state of Ireland that the government are not supporting these initiatives but are rail roading rural ireland with massive solar power plants and industrialising it forever more.
