I am John McGowan, from Cliffoney, Sligo, a passionate Chef with 25+ Years of Experience! I have always wanted to do catering in my local area and region. My background is working in 5-star hotels and top local restaurants. I bring expertise, passion, and a commitment to sourcing local produce where possible and providing high-quality catering. Comfort Kitchen is a true passion project for John and his family.
John’s love of food started at a young age. Growing up, he spent time helping out in his mum’s café. From there, he went on to build years of experience working in hotels across the country.
While studying in Galway, John and Paula often talked about one day having a business of their own. Eventually, it was time to bite the bullet and give it a go. The timing wasn’t perfect but Comfort Kitchen was born.
Since then, the business has continued to grow, taking Comfort Kitchen to festivals, events and opportunities noone could have imagined!
The real reward is helping people. Whether that’s taking the pressure off someone who doesn’t have time to cook, being part of a special occasion or even popping in to see someone who hasn’t had visitors in a while, it’s about so much more than delivering a meal.
