Does your job still suit your family life? 🤍
I come across this in every home I walk into while decluttering: people who aren’t happy in their jobs and are constantly striving for a better work-life balance.
Sometimes we stay in a job because it feels secure, familiar or simply too frightening to leave—but if work is constantly taking you away from the life you’re working so hard to provide, it may be time to reassess.
You may need a change if:
✨ You’re regularly missing important family moments
✨ You feel guilty at work and at home
✨ You’re constantly exhausted or overwhelmed
✨ You can’t switch off after working hours
✨ Your days off are spent recovering
✨ Taking holidays or annual leave is always difficult
✨ Your health, happiness or relationships are suffering
A change doesn’t need to happen overnight. Start by exploring your options, making a realistic plan and thinking about what would genuinely work for your family.
Your job should fit into your life—not take it over.
Swipe through and ask yourself honestly: is your current job still working for you and your family?
🧦 The Single-Sock Solution!
Tired of that ever-growing bag of lonely socks? Try these simple ideas:
🧺 Use a small “lost sock” basket beside the washing machine—so every odd sock has one designated home.
🔍 Check the usual hiding places: inside fitted sheets, duvet covers, trouser legs and behind the washing machine.
🧷 Clip pairs together with sock clips before putting them into the laundry basket.
🧼 Wash socks in a mesh laundry bag—especially children’s socks and trainer socks.
📅 Set a time limit: if its partner hasn’t returned after three months, it’s probably not coming back!
♻️ Repurpose the leftovers as cleaning cloths, dusting mitts or protective covers for delicate items.
And going forward… consider buying several pairs of the same socks. No more matching required! 😂
Be honest—how many single socks are currently waiting for their partners in your home? 👇

🚨 HOME EMERGENCY KIT CHECKLIST
Prepare for power cuts, water outages, flooding and other household emergencies.
Store it safely
Keep essential supplies together in a clearly labelled, waterproof container on a high shelf near an exit. Avoid storing it in a basement or low cupboard.
Keep a smaller waterproof grab bag nearby in case you need to leave quickly.
Include
✓ Torches and spare batteries
✓ Fully charged power banks and charging cables
✓ Battery-operated or wind-up radio
✓ First-aid kit and essential medication
✓ Bottled water and at least three days’ supply of no-cook food
✓ Manual tin opener
✓ Hygiene supplies and warm clothing
✓ Important documents and emergency contact details
✓ Cash and spare keys
✓ Supplies for pets, babies or anyone requiring additional care
Remember
• Check and replenish supplies every six months.
• Use torches rather than candles wherever possible.
• Learn how to turn off utilities safely.
• Never use barbecues or generators indoors.
• Avoid using electrical equipment in floodwater.
• Call 112 or 999 if anyone is in immediate danger.
The Declutter Stylist tip: Keeping one organised emergency box and one grab bag ensures essential supplies are readily accessible without taking over your home.

🏋️ HOME GYM STORAGE MADE SIMPLE 🏋️
A home gym should motivate you—not overwhelm you with weights, mats and equipment scattered everywhere!
With the right storage, even a small space can become an organised, practical workout zone:
✨ Use wall racks for yoga mats
✨ Add hooks for resistance bands and skipping ropes
✨ Store weights securely on a proper rack
✨ Keep gym bags and smaller essentials in labelled baskets
✨ Choose a storage bench for equipment and extra seating
Where to shop in Dublin and Ireland:
🖤 Decathlon – weight racks and yoga-mat storage
🤍 IKEA – shelving, pegboards and baskets
🖤 Woodie’s – strong wall hooks and heavy-duty shelving
🤍 JYSK – storage benches and stylish baskets
You don’t need a huge room—you simply need storage that works for your space and your routine.

✨ SMALL SPACE, BIG POSSIBILITIES ✨
Being restricted for space doesn’t mean a room can’t be stylish, practical and multifunctional. Swipe to see how one room can completely transform! 👉
🖥️ Fold-down desk
Create a home office when you need it, then simply fold it away.
🛏️ Wall bed
Turn the room into a comfortable bedroom at night and reclaim your floor space during the day.
👕 Ceiling airer
Use the often-forgotten space above you to dry clothes, then raise it neatly out of sight when it’s not needed.
One room can become a home office, guest bedroom and laundry-drying space—without feeling cramped or cluttered.
It’s not always about having more space. Sometimes, it’s about making the space you already have work harder for you. 🤍

✅ Ball holders to stop footballs and basketballs rolling around
✅ Racket hooks for tennis and badminton gear

You can source practical storage solutions from IKEA and Amazon—simple, affordable and easy for the whole family to maintain.

✨ SAME BEAUTIFUL AESTHETIC — DIFFERENT BUDGETS ✨
When it comes to organising your home, one size—and one budget—doesn’t fit everyone.
Whether you choose acrylic storage from The Organised Store, Home Store + More, IKEA or JYSK, you can still create that same clean, coordinated and luxurious look without compromising on quality.
My job is to find storage that:
🤍 Suits your space
🤍 Works with your budget
🤍 Looks beautiful
🤍 Makes everyday life easier
It’s not about buying the most expensive option—it’s about choosing the right products for your home and how you live.
Whatever your budget, we can create a beautifully organised space together.

🎶 GIVE THEIR TALENT ROOM TO SHINE 🎶
When your child discovers a love for music, creating the right space can make all the difference.
It doesn’t need to be a huge room or a professional studio. With clever storage, suitable equipment and thoughtful organisation, even a bedroom can become a place where creativity grows.
🎸 Display instruments safely on padded wall mounts
🎤 Create a dedicated singing or recording corner
🎹 Keep equipment accessible and ready to use
🎧 Organise headphones, cables and accessories
🧺 Store cases neatly in cabinets or baskets
✨ Make the space inspiring without overcrowding it
When everything has a home, there is more room to practise, perform, experiment and dream.
Because talent deserves more than being packed away—it deserves a space to shine. 🤎

♻️ DECLUTTER WITH PURPOSE ♻️
Decluttering doesn’t always mean throwing things away. The items you no longer need could be exactly what another person or family is looking for.
Clothes, furniture, books and household essentials may be donated to organisations such as:
✅ St Vincent de Paul
✅ Vision Ireland
✅ Sue Ryder Ireland
✅ Enable Ireland
✅ Oxfam Ireland
✅ Irish Cancer Society
✅ Habitat ReStore
✅ Local women’s refuges
✅ Homeless and community groups
✅ Freecycle and local free-giving groups
Always contact the organisation first, as donation needs and accepted items can vary.
A calmer home, less waste and something useful passed on to someone else—that’s decluttering with purpose. 🌿
Save this post for your next clear-out and share it with someone who is decluttering.
