What is the Analogue Agreement?
And
What is this dispute about?

For years, workers in the public and local government sectors have relied on agreements known as the Analogue agreements — these ensure fair pay (living wage ) and fair conditions for thousands of dedicated employees across our Public Services.

The body responsible — DPER (the Government Department of Public Expenditure and Reform) — has refused to reinstate these agreements. They have refused to review them. And they have refused to even discuss them with the unions representing these workers. This is unfair.

We followed the official, agreed process to resolve this — we invited DPER to attend the Labour Court (the neutral forum both unions and Government have agreed to use to settle disagreements) — they refused to show up!

That is not how fair process works. That is not how you treat the people who keep our Public Services running EVERY day.

Unions don’t take dispute action lightly. But when the other side refuses to talk, refuses to engage, and breaks their own agreed rules — we have no choice but to stand our ground.

These workers deserve to be heard. They deserve fair pay. And they deserve a Government that shows up and respects the agreements it made.

We stand together. We bargain together. We win together. ✊

What happens next?

Connect is now completing the consultations and preparations needed to progress the dispute. When next steps and dates are confirmed, affected members will be informed directly.

Connect Trade Union’s Executive Management Committee has sanctioned the Public Sector
Craftworkers’ dispute following the 95% ballot mandate from participating members.
