Always good to catch up with our airport clients in person. The big themes on the floor this year are fleet management and improving the safety and visibility of ground operations, which is exactly the conversation we enjoy having.

An apron is a busy, tight, high-pressure place to run a fleet. Knowing where every unit is and whether it is fit to use matters more there than almost anywhere.

A fleet manager we work with went looking for a diesel thief last spring. ⛽

The system had flagged a fill on one of his vans while the van itself was parked up 40 kilometres away. Bigger than the tank, too. He was fairly sure he knew what he was dealing with.

Turned out to be a wrong registration on the account and a lad using the card in a different van. Fixed in an afternoon, no drama, nobody in trouble.

That is how most of these end. But he only found out because something checked the transaction against where the vehicle actually was, which is not a job anyone is doing by hand on a 400 line statement.
