Mikey Kelly Racing #18

At the weekend I was in Tynagh for round 7 of the TKC championship. I had a bad crash on the Saturday but thankfully walked away from it with alot of bruises. We had alot of work to do with the kart to get me back out yesterday. I wanted to start from the back all day as I didn’t want to get caught up in anything.

With 21 karts on track I qualified P15 (P12 with bumper penalty)

Heat 1- P21 to P10

Heat 2- P21 to P15

Final- P21 to P10

Yesterday I was at Athboy Karting Centre for round 5 of the Motorsport Ireland Championship

Kart wasn’t right all day. We thought we had it sorted after qualli but I was still a good bit off.

With 21 karts on track I qualified P18

Heat 1- P18 to P14. There was a pile up on lap 1. I managed to avoid it by spinning onto the grass but picked up a bumper penalty from another one

Heat 2- P18 to P15. Got put into the grass and lost alot of places. Was the best I could do

Final- P14 to P15. With a bumper penalty I got on the formation lap. Got another shunt into the grass aswell, that didn’t help

We’ll take the good with the bad and get ready for the next one. TKC in Galway 💪🏼

I was in Athboy Karting Centre for round 4 of the Motorport Ireland championship at the weekend

With 24 karts on track I qualified P12
It was very tight with all of us within a second

Heat 1- DNF got a clip and my bumper got stuck in the wheel and put me into the grass

Heat 2- P12 to P12

Final- P21 to P11. Should of been better but I was hit 5 times in the race and lost 5 places from them. Then after checking the kart over we found a big crack in the chassis 😞

Overall I’m happy with the progress I’ve made over the weekend

Yesterday I was in Watergrasshill for round 3 of the TKC championship

With 22 karts on track I qualified P7

Heat 1- P7 to P8

Heat 2- P7 to P6

Final- P7 to P9

I wasn’t too happy about the result in the final. I was up to P2 after an incident but the Battenberg flag was put out and messed everything up

Still I enjoyed the weekend and it was great to be able to leave the wets in the van for a change

I was in Watergrasshill for round 2 of the Motorsport Ireland Championship. A long weekend with practice on Friday. Qualifying and 2 heats on Saturday. Final and O Plate Final on Sunday

Unfortunately I didn’t make Qualifying. Got to the gate early so we thought but it was running 15 minutes early and missed the timer. So I had to start both heats from the back

Heat 1- P22 to P12

Heat 2- P22 to P15

Final- P13 to P20 with bumper penalty

O Plate- P13 to P20 with bumper penalty
