Fermoy Camera Club - FCC

A wonderful evening celebrating the Clare Murphy Memorial competition at Fermoy Camera Club - FCC tonight. The Murphy family were warmly welcomed by Chair Catherine Sheehan & competition coordinator George O Keefe. Sean Murphy spoke fondly of his mother s love of nature & wildlife and being part of FCC helped develop her talent & interest even more. She loved her walks along Barnane so it was a beautiful image of sunset over the Blackwater taken by Deirdre Casolani who took home the trophy. A delighted Deirdre was emotional as she accepted the cup from John Murphy remembering many days in Clare s company strolling down Barnane with their cameras.

Venue: Fermoy Community Youth Centre
Entry deadline: Friday Sept 18th. ( Only 8 days from today) 😱😄

Clare’s family will be joining us on the night to celebrate her memory and judge the winner of the 2026 Clare Murphy Memorial Cup.
​Ger Dorgan is the defending champion, and while she won't hand over the trophy easily, we’ll certainly give it our best shot!

Clare was such a lovely person, a wonderfully talented and enthusiastic photographer, and a cherished member of Fermoy Camera Club. It’s an honor to celebrate her legacy together.

This is our August Collection (Display 8) from our A Photo By Friday project. It is very encouraging to see there is such a great interest in this project.
It was great to see them all projected at our meeting last night where we made plenty of time to discuss and enjoy them.

Fermoy Camera Club - FCC

We return to Fermoy Community Youth Centre on Tuesday next Sept. 8th. New members welcome.

Fabulous evening outing to Corrin Nature Reserve on Tuesday 18 th of August. As the heatwave subsides and there's a little moisture in the air we ve had 2 great photo opportunities near home as Doneraile Park was the venue for last Sunday s excursion.. Looking forward to the next adventure. Well done Sinéad Hickey for organising.

📸 Blackwater Photographic Society at the Mallow Arts Festival! 🎨

We are delighted to be taking part in this year's Mallow Arts Festival with two photography exhibitions showcasing the incredible talent of our members.
📍 Herlihy's Centra, Mallow
📍 Meals on Wheels Centre, Mallow
Our displays feature a diverse collection of images, including wildlife, landscapes, nature, portraits, monochrome and creative photography.

A huge thank you to Herlihy's Centra and the Meals on Wheels Centre for supporting local artists and providing us with the opportunity to exhibit our work.

Fermoy Camera Club member and accomplished Photographer, Breeda Kiely Morgan, will be holding an exhibition in Saint George's Arts and Heritage Centre, Mitchelstown and we would like to encourage our friends in other clubs and art enthusiasts to come along and enjoy Breeda's superb work. Breeda is a highly acclaimed, award winning fine art, landscape and nature photographer . She has her own unique photographic style which is both stunning and inspirational and well worth experiencing.
