Another day another adventure with Shamrockroutes ☘️☘️☘️,today unlike yesterday fog and rain, the day started blue sky and sun. It was a choice of Ring of Kerry or Di**le , Slea Head. We decided the latter. Connie and Steve from Indiana 🇺🇸🇺🇸 were all excited .Today was more than touring for our wonderful couple. Today Shamrockroutes ☘️☘️ helped them Celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary..👏👏👏
Our first visit on the way to Di**le was Inch beach. Breezy lots of waves. Connie and Steve headed for a beach walk. Took really beautiful photos along their walk .
Back on the road we decided while the weather was in our favour we would visit Slea Head. We visited an 1800s famine cottage and a 500 AD Beehive Hut.They took lots of photos.
Along the wild coastline we stopped at different places got out and just took pictures after pictures of all the beauty.
We had lunch in Krugers Bar. The most westerly pub in Europe. We met lots of fellow tourists, whom were all enjoying the weather and beautiful landscapes.
We travelled back to Di**le and visited Conor Pass. Beautiful clear blue sky. Could see down to Castlegregory and the Atlantic Ocean.
Then we travelled back to Killarney where we had an evening meal appointment in the famous Kitty O Se restaurant. The food was delicious and our guests celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary 👏👏👏

Another day another adventure with Shamrockroutes ☘️☘️☘️,

Yesterday Connie and Steve from Indiana 🇺🇸🇺🇸,said goodbye to Cork. We were travelling to Kenmare to cross the Caha pass on the Bearra Peninsula and back over the Healy Pass.Sadly due to deteriorating weather we had to change plans..

We arrived in Kenmare, our guests went for a stroll round this beautiful town.When they came back , we drove upto Molly Gallivans Cottage. This restored famine era cottage looks impressive.We took photos of the Druid statue. All enjoyed this stop.

We headed on up the Caha Pass it was wet miserable and fog. We decided to turn back because to much fog for Healy Pass. We drove for Killarney over Molls Gap. Same fog rain and poor visibility.

In Killarney the sun was up. We went for lunch. The food was delicious. The staff as usual friendly and helpful.

After lunch we visited Ross Castle. This 15th century castle built on the shores of Lough Leanne. The history with this Medieval castle is amazing.

Our next visit was Muckross House and Gardens. Rain was falling. Out with the umbrellas . Our guests really enjoyed the visit to this mid1800s mansion.Overlooking National Parks and lake. Our guests finished their day in Randles Hotel. They both enjoyed gin and tonics before their meals.

Another day another adventure with Shamrockroutes ☘️☘️☘️, today our wonderful guests from Indiana 🇺🇸🇺🇸, Steve and Connie were all excited and ready for today’s trip. The weather unfortunately was not great this morning , overhead fog and occasional misty rain. But we were determined not to let this impact our day…
We travelled from Cork city to Great Island to the town of Cobh (Queenstown). We visited one of Irelands most beautiful cathedrals St Colmans. The architecture is superb . They both enjoyed and took beautiful pictures.
Next they visited the White Star Line office , were the guests passing through to board Titanic , on its last trip before it sunk.
After that we left Cobh and headed to Midleton , we visited Kindred Spirit . A memorial to thank the Choctaw Indians.9 stainless feathers around an empty bowl . In 1847 they sent money to Ireland as they had endured their own situation. Our guests enjoyed this experience.
Last visit today was The Midleton Experience. They enjoyed a tour of the factory. A whiskey tasting at the very end. They enjoyed this tour.

Dublin’s museums offer a fascinating insight into Ireland’s rich cultural heritage, and with Shamrock Routes, exploring them is effortless and refined.
The National Museum of Ireland showcases priceless archaeological treasures, medieval artefacts, and decorative arts. Nearby, the Natural History Museum captivates visitors with its Victorian-era displays, while the National Gallery of Ireland houses masterpieces from Irish and international artists.

Another day another adventure with Shamrockroutes ☘️, today our guests from Indiana 🇺🇸🇺🇸, Steve and Connie looked forward to travelling to the sunny Kinsale. Unfortunately the day started wet and cloudy. Plans were changed to suit the day. Despite the weather we still had an enjoyable tour .

After leaving the Montenotte Hotel we had a short drive to Shandon Bells.The bells are housed in St Anne’s church. Built in 1722 , guests can climb the tower and ring the bells.Our guests enjoyed this experience.

Next place to visit was Cork Gaol.Opened in 1824 , this prison housed both male and female prisoners. The architecture is that of a castle affect, both Steve and Connie enjoyed this visit.

Back into city centre for our next visit, English Markets, opened in 1788, its Irelands oldest indoor food market. Our guests again enjoyed.

We then travelled to Kinsale and had lunch . After lunch we visited the Ringfinnan Memorial Gardens, in commemoration of fire fighters whom lost their lives during 9/11.

Next visit was the Lusitania Museum and Old Head Signal Tower.The Old Head Signal Tower was built in 1804.The museum tells the story of Lusitania torpedoed in 1915. All enjoyed this visit. Today’s weather was not great very foggy along coastline.
