Looking for a free family day out in Wicklow this weekend? 🐝

The annual Wicklow Honey Festival returns to Ashford on Saturday, 19 September, from 11am to 4pm... and there is plenty happening throughout the day.

🔸️ Visitors can taste the different flavours found in pure Wicklow honey, meet local beekeepers and watch live bees at work inside observation hives, safely behind glass. Locally produced Irish honey will also be available to buy, so it’s a good opportunity to stock the cupboard before winter.

🔸️ There will also be artisan stalls, free face painting, a free children’s quiz, children’s art and poetry, hamburgers, tea and coffee, cake, strawberries and ice cream, plus a bumper raffle.

Saturday 19 September 2026
11am–4pm
Ashford Community Centre & Parish Grounds, Ashford, Co. Wicklow
Free entry

Wicklow, I have one very important question… where are we eating?

The new Food In Wicklow top has officially arrived, and I don’t imagine it will be staying this clean for very long 😜

It’ll be making its way around the county in search of brilliant food, interesting menus and the people who make eating out an experience. That means meeting the minds behind the dishes, hearing the stories behind local businesses and getting to know the staff who bring the whole thing together.

So, Wicklow’s restaurants, cafés, pubs, food trucks and producers... if you see this top coming through your door, come and say hello ☺️ There will probably be plenty of questions, several photographs and very little chance of turning down dessert.

And for everyone who loves discovering somewhere new to eat, follow Food In Wicklow and tell me: where should the top visit first?

Thank you to Site-Mate, Kilcoole for our fabulous new look 👏

🍴Wicklow foodies… this is the weekend we’ve been waiting for! 😋

July 10th-12th... Three days celebrating the incredible food, flavours and people behind Wicklow’s growing food scene at Taste of Wicklow

We’ll be there on Saturday, and we genuinely can’t wait to eat our way around the Abbey Grounds 🙌

For us, it’s all about meeting the passionate local producers, discovering new foodie finds, catching up with familiar faces and tasting the brilliant food being grown, baked, made and created right here in Wicklow.

Add in chef demonstrations, plenty of delicious things to try and Wicklow’s own Catherine Fulvio, and you’ve got our kind of weekend.

If you spot Food In Wicklow wandering around with a camera in one hand and something delicious in the other… come say hello 👋

We can’t wait to see all the Wicklow food producers, hear their stories and, most importantly, taste what they’ve been creating...

See you Saturday… and come hungry!

You can only pick ONE burger here…

Right… no sitting on the fence for this one 😂

Which burger are you choosing?

1️⃣ The Classic
2️⃣ The Pub Feed
3️⃣ The Messy One
4️⃣ The Loaded One

We already know the comments are going to start some debate 👇

(Tag the mate who’d pick differently from you)

📍 We genuinely loved taste testing every one of these burgers from spots in Wicklow Town, Newtownmountkennedy & Roundwood

We can totally see why people keep recommending BUOYS Kitchen

Right in the heart of Greystones, this spot has that perfect mix of cosy café energy and seriously good food. The kind of place you pop into for brunch and somehow end up staying way longer than planned.

From fluffy pancake stacks to hearty breakfasts, burgers, fresh fish & chips and great coffee, everything coming out of the kitchen looks unreal. Add in the relaxed atmosphere and friendly vibe and it’s easy to see why locals love it here.

It feels stylish without losing that welcoming neighbourhood café feel, which honestly is such a hard balance to get right.

Definitely one to add to your Wicklow food list if you haven’t tried it already.

Wicklow Town's sold-out w**e night is coming to Roundwood…

You can’t beat a good fish & chips 🙌

With the May Bank Holiday weekend ahead...
where’s your go-to spot in Wicklow? 👇

📸 This one was from The Chester Beatty Inn Ashford, crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside. Unreal.

If you know, you know… and Yamas Greek Restaurant is very much one of those places.

This is the kind of spot that doesn’t try too hard, because it doesn’t have to. Under the guidance of owner Nico, there’s a real sense of pride in what’s coming out of the kitchen and onto the table. It’s proper, honest Greek food, rooted in tradition, where flavour leads and everything else follows.

You’ll find all the classics here, done exactly as they should be. Nothing overworked, nothing unnecessary, just really, really good food.

There’s also a warmth to the place that you can’t manufacture. Family-run, welcoming, and relaxed, with subtle nods to Greece throughout the space. It feels easy in the best way.

And then there’s the w**e 🍷 A proper selection, thoughtfully chosen, and well worth leaning into when you’re here.

This is one of those restaurants you go back to. Not for hype, but because it delivers every single time.
