Ganpati Bappa Morya. Keep him in the house. Keep plaster out of the water.
The ritual is not the damage. The material is. Plaster of Paris does not dissolve the way clay does. After visarjan it sits in the sea and in lakes, paints and all.
BMC collected about 1,982 tonnes of PoP remnants from Mumbai immersions in 2025. CPCB has asked for natural clay, not PoP.
Clay goes back to clay. That is the older way.

The new phone is not the green one. Most of a phone’s carbon is locked in before you unbox it. Apple puts production at 83% of an iPhone 12’s 70 kg CO2e life cycle.
Over 1.2 billion new phones sold in 2024 produced more than 60 million tonnes of CO2e from manufacturing alone.
That starts in mines: gold, cobalt, lithium, rare earths pulled for a device most people replace in three years.
In 2022 the world generated 62 million tonnes of e-waste. Only 22% was formally collected and recycled.
Keep the one in your pocket.

Every AI image costs roughly 29ml of water and 3 watt-hours of electricity a shot glass of water and a bulb running for about 17 minutes. A mature tree takes days to offset that. Most of these images live 24 hours on a story, then vanish. The bill does not.
The quieter cost is data. Every prompt, every upload, every “make it vintage” is training material. Not a memory. A sample. The public version of AI is the commercial one. You pay twice, once with power and water, once with yourself.
AI is a serious tool. Use it to map a drought, model a galaxy, solve something that lasts. Burning it on a vanity filter is convenience dressed up as creativity.
I am not asking you to save the planet. The planet does not need you. Humans need a temperature they can still live in.
The filter is optional. The heat is not.

Water crisis, sea level rise, none of that matters when there’s a nineteen ninety eight filter to try.
Truly inspiring climate activism, considering the UN just warned fourteen million people in Mumbai and Kolkata could lose their homes, while each one of these filters burns half a litre of water and a phone charge worth of power.

Just looking out of the window 🪟
Life in the mountains is nothing less than a blessing.
Spending time here in peace is a luxury.
Seeing clouds form, mountains slowing going under the shadows blanket, trees going still, birds going back to their nests.
How lucky am I?

The Greener Earth Foundation[] proudly participated in Mumbai Climate Week[
], hosted by Project Mumbai[] under the leadership of Shishir Joshi[]. We extend heartfelt thanks for the platform.
We showcased “Captured Earth,” created with Godrej Design Lab[] for Conscious Collective 2025, a piece made of 15,000 bottle caps, symbolising the urgent plastic crisis - predicting more plastic than fish by 2050.
Our Tethered Cap Mandate, aiming for policy-led design changes to cut plastic waste and boost circularity, gained momentum as we connected with leaders like Dia Mirza[] and global advocates. It was inspiring to stand alongside passionate changemakers, and we’re energised to further this crucial mission.
The event connected us with thousands of visitors and global partners who resonated with our vision. Our campaign is dedicated to driving tangible change in how plastic bottles are designed in India - pushing for tethered caps that stay with bottles, ensuring recyclability and reducing waste.
We were thrilled to engage with supporters across sectors, and the energy we gained fuels our next steps toward a sustainable future.
