SLOT Design Studio
space • light • object • texture
We are SLOT, a multi-disciplinary design studio located in New Delhi, India.
Our founders, an engineer, and a spatial designer, unite with a shared vision: crafting wholesome spaces tailored to meet each client’s need.
On site, we end up taking dozens of photos everyday but our favorite part is to string them together to appreciate the journey.
It feels like a render turns to reality in an instant : 20 seconds, to be precise. But it takes many days of planning, standing, working, waiting and hoping it all turns out well in the end.

Renders are our most powerful tool! Thanks to Bottomline Studio (3D Rendering firm) we were able to get our vision closer to reality, long before construction began.
For this space, we wanted to introduce genuine warmth into an otherwise cold tech environment. By layering a continuous wooden floor with acoustic features and clean glass partitions, every detail was engineered to foster focus, collaboration, and effortless movement.

Concluding our clinic design with these shots that truly capture the essence of the space. Keeping the same pristine white marble floor gave us a continuous spine that was structured with brushed brass partitions creating an open and calming corridor and waiting space.
Some of custom pieces you spot are from the doctor’s collection in aspiration of having his own space eventually. We maintained all the other furniture as clean as possible, limited color contrasts that maintained a cool, calming and natural feel in the space. 🌿

Where do we run off to?
That is the exact question we would ask ourselves if we were hooked on to our own Instagram (which we are, just saying). We’ve been traveling, moving between sites, we are definitely hitting our step goal and supplementing on salts since summers have officially hit Delhi these last few weeks. ☀️
Hoping for a respite, but only with the temperature we love to keep the tempo going!

A close-up detail of the doctor’s sophisticated equipment. To make the space feel homogenous, we introduced custom fabric covers over the original blue medical chair.
👀 P.S. Spatial alignments in this room were maintained to the T. An eye surgeon catches the absolute minutest of details. 🔍
Playing on the nostalgia of cane and wood furniture that the doctor grew up on, we opted for these mid-century chairs upholstered in a matching fabric.
Some things do not need to be complicated, just plain sentiment. 💛

Natural, calm and welcoming? 🍃
That was the only brief. There obviously was a very strong sense of space, movement and technical detail that this project needed, but how someone would feel was the beginning and end of every design discourse.
Balancing light, with nature and earthy tones were our answer to making this space.
What’s the best compliment? Every time we go the doctors tell us that clients never feel like they are sitting and waiting in a clinic. (They may also be complaining less about the long wait times 🤣)
Spacemen in the basement. 🧱
Every time we visit a site, the emotions shift. We might feel proud, happy, angry, or occasionally disappointed. But through it all, we are forever grateful for the hands that physically bring our vision together.
Architecture is a deeply labor intensive craft. Our drawings are only ever as good as the skill and ex*****on of the people on the ground. This is a nod to their hard work, raw grit, and the determination to push forward no matter what. ✨

The architecture of a first impression. 🌿
A clinic’s reception shouldn’t be a transactional counter. It is the anchor point for the entire spatial movement. It from here that a patient transitions from anxiety into welcoming comfort.
Swipe to see the layers of its making, witness the evolution of a site into becoming the airy sanctuary we first envisioned.
For the clinic, we decided to go with a monolithic desk in pure white illuminate with warm lighting to create an airy feeling while balancing it with an expansive overhead sky that creates a soft glow of light.

Basements aren’t the most welcoming - that’s the biggest challenge our clients had in their previous space.
By sandwiching the staircase between a living, oxygenating green wall and a fluidic fluted glass partition, we allowed the feeling of a natural sky come in from the stretched ceiling and the underlit pebbles added a tactile touch.
Spatial Psychology isn’t just what you see - it’s how you a space makes you feel 🍃
Would you like going down the steps of this basement?
A behind-the-process look at the spatial evolution of the entrance to our latest healthcare project.
While designing the clinic, we navigated a highly sensitive architectural boundary. The space must be highly functional, ensuring all safety and healthcare standards while ensuring that patients never feel trapped in a cold, clinical environment.
By creating a vertical green wall, using earthy tones contrasted with a blue sky and white granite staircase - we added a new horizon to a landlocked space. 🌤️
